o2 in the uk put up their ordering site this morning, and it has since crashed!!

Yep, same here, actually got right the way through the upgrade form almost to the end, before it crashed.

I've got an inbox full of "upgrade codes" and nothing to type them into

Yes, when I try I get to a page that says enter phone number then get the code txt but no where to put it. When I reloaded the page it comes up with enter details name address account number etc, I have done this and finally got a message saying order is being processed but still have not entered the code???????

The page seems to change every time i click, i want to order it through the page that seems to be linked to my account, the page with the code they text you rather than the one where you type card details in - but haven't been through to that one in a while

So, should we expect lines like the previous release? I'm having neck surgery today (7am) and cannot wait in a Loooong line for a phone. Should I be worried or can I just pull up and get a phone when the store opens at 8am?

Thats my plan, just nip in on the way to work. Guess who busy it'll be depends where you live tho, big city will be a lot busier than small ish town

Looks like in some cities, the lines started forming yesterday.

Just found out I'm not eligible for upgrade for a YEAR (d...ed kids stole my upgrade last year!), so I won't be in any lines.

Has there been a post about what happens if you do NOT upgrade your old iphone? Will the older iphones work with the new software pretty well? I have looked around on the net for some info but nothing really comparing the old phone and new one. I'd like to just keep my current Iphone for awhile but can I use the new app store and etc? I'm not an intense user (business user).

It should work fine. The only thing missing is GPS really. The app store is setup to handle that and will filter out apps that need GPS. The new iTunes is available now. I would guess that the new OS will be available some time today.

they said during the presentation that old iphone users can have the software upgrade for free and ipod touch user pay $10 for the upgrade. After that you can use the app store, etc. I also say that the only thing you are missing it the gps and faster network.

The thing that keeps me from upgrading is the cheap plastic case the new Iphones have. I rather like my sturdy metal casing.

Also...is there a bracket or something that can hold your phone on the dash to use the GPS? I mean, if I did upgrade...what do you do...set the thing in your lap and keep looking down?

I was thinking the same thing. Im sure it would be useful to have it on the dash if you were using speakerphone, or the ipod also.

I have an Iphone dock for listening to the Ipod portion through the radio-it's made by Belkin and it specifically works with the Iphone-I bought it at Walmart for $89.99, it plugs into the cigarette lighter. However, looking down by my cigarette lighter would not be good for me to try and use the GPS that way. When I use speakerphone, I have it in my lap or well, I rest it on my chest (doubt that will help any men out there though).

most applications will work just fine... the new iPhone software is available right now as I am typing this. havn;t upgraded yet, but I am moments away from trying the new software with my old phone.

Well, my DFi is in line as of 5am my time. I would be there but I had neck surgery Wednesday and no one in my house would let me even think of sitting outside the store. I'll be leaving my house soon to meet him there. He's 44th in line.
