I don’t understand what’s going on but for the past 2-3 days I’ve had pop-ups telling me that I need to take a survey for AT&T then it takes me to another survey and another survey I just need this to stop so I can look at the boards. I’m honestly shocked I got to write this entire paragraph. It only happens when I visit here not any other websites. I’m gold for the first time and this is such an important time for me to read the boards. I think you so much and advance this means the world to me I hope I can read it if someone is able to post the answer before I get the text pop up!
The most frustrating thing is I can’t go back a screen to the original place I was it won’t let me back screen.

Install an ad blocker app. It will prevent the pop-up. This is a known issue for the site, but it seems they can't get it fixed.

I have no idea how to stop them. It happens a lot to me too. Usually I have to log out and in again and it stops for a few days. I have ad blockers on my phone but it doesn’t seem to help. Sorry it’s happening while you’re on the cruise wasting valuable MBs.

Do you have one that works for the iPhone? I’m desperate and willing to throw money at the problem for my sanity !

I just had the same issue on my Galaxy. For whatever reason I had to close the browser tab and then go back to the site in a new tab.

The same thing has been happening on my iPhone for several days - it's been making me crazy. It is only doing it for this site.

That’s what I was trying but still was bombarded with those ads. Weirdly enough I finally went and answered all the ads with fake information and now I’ve been able to be on the site for almost 20 minutes.

That’s what confuses me most. That and why it never gives you the way back to the boards. You just get hijacked and left in the middle of nowhere.

There are multiple threads about this in the Technical Support forum and a poll in the Community forum. This weekend it was the worst I've ever experienced on my iPad and iPhone. I only have this issue with this site. I also noticed that when it started getting bad these last couple of months that the spam to the email address I have associated with this website has been pretty bad, and I don't just mean in terms of volume.

I used to have it happen all the time, then it just stopped and when they upgraded this site it started all over again. I don't really have a solution, although I highly recommend not clicking on these ads. What I do is close the browser and open it again. Sometimes I have to do it three or four times, but then it stops for a while.

I noticed that it restarted with the upgrade as well.

Exactly this. The pop-ups were terrible and then stopped. Upgrade happened, and they are back in force. It's awful.

Same thing happened to me last night, but it was a "comcast" one instead of AT&T... it looked very suspicious. I tried to get around it as well but had no luck so just walked away. Hopefully the webmasters can figure it out soon!

I had the exact same thing but with Comcast. It was so annoying.
The fix for me was to exit out completely and restart the ap. Re-sign in from the very beginning.

As I was typing my reply to this thread....I got a pop up and lost my spot .🤬 The latest pop up is telling me my flash player is out of date. People are also getting NSFW pornographic images so this really needs to be stopped.

OP- I downloaded StopAd and enabled it on my iPad and i've been ok ....so far. Try using that or a similar free adblocker.

I’m getting it on my iPad when I use Safari again recently. Opened up Firefox browser and have had no issues.
I’m hoping my adblocker will slow them down, if not I’ll switch from safari to a different browser.

I had the same issue, and it got so bad, I had to stop using the site. I installed Firefox Focus on my iPhone (and even though it’s Firefox, it works with Safari, too), and I have not had a popup since.

At least, not here. I still get them when I “click through” to articles on their FB page, which I guess Focus doesn't cover.

Corey told me long ago that this was due to “bad ads” that got into the feed. I don’t know anything about running a web site with third-party ad services, but it always seemed to me that if your ad vendor can’t give you clean ads, then stop using that ad vendor.

I guess it must not be that simple, or else (I hope) the DIS powers-that-be would have done that years ago. ‘Cause this has been a problem for a very long time.

When those ads pop up I’ve had good luck with clearing browsing history and data, and they go away.

Hope that helps!
