How popular do you think the Ipad Mini's will be on BF? I want to get my kids one, and I'm not sure if they will go quickly or if people will be going for the newer model on the Mini or the Air.

Any thoughts?

I was looking at the $199 one at Wal-Mart for myself! They have them on sale today for $219 and am deciding if I should just buy it today?

walmart is having it on thanksgiving guaranteed to get it from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $199 plus get a $30 gift card from walmart. I did this last year. I waited around until I got the bracelet and then went to the front registers, paid for it and walmart mailed it to me before christmas.

They will be huge on Black Friday. A lot of people don't mind getting the older wifi only model for their younger kids. We did it last year so that MIL and FIL could give it to DD for Christmas, as my Mom is always outdoing their gifts and we wanted them to get the thing that was going to make DD go nuts for once. Our experience, which was very good, was as follows:

Our Wal-mart was open all day with the mini IPAD and other Black Friday specials starting at 6:00 p.m. We walked into Walmart at 4:30. They were already handing out wristbands to come back and pick up the ipads at 6:00 p.m., and there was no line for them. With a wristband you were guaranteed an Ipad that night. We were told we could come back anytime before 8 to pick it up (our Wal-mart was doing this at the automotive counter- there should be a black friday map you can get ahead of time to tell you where to go). We got in line to pick it up and pay about 5:15 becauuse we wanted to get home quickly. We were the first in line to pay and out of Walmart with the mini ipad in hand by 6:01.

They ran out of the wristbands around 5:35. At 5:35 when they ran out of wristbands, they started handing out the guarantee cards. Those people had to take the cards and go to the main register and main line to pay. They were guaranteed that they item should be shipped to them and received before Christmas. Be aware that there were alot of complaints last year in regard to the 1 hour guaranteed items that were supposed to be shipped and received by Christmas not showing up on time, substitute items being sent, etc. It seems like most of those complaints related to the tvs, and the beats- specifically a lot of substitute unheard of brands or beats models and colors. Seems like most people did get the ipads on time. I think I saw reports of several not getting them until December 22, and maybe just 1 of it not showing up until December 26. If you leave with just a guarantee instead of the item at hand, I would have a back up Christmas plan just in case.

For us, it was amazingly easy, and of course DD was thrilled when the inlaws gave it to her.

Ipad Mini will be $249 at Target with an $80 gift card - a better deal.

They both equal out to $169-$170 after the gift card, but the Target price would be a bit higher because of paying sales tax on the full amount. I'm assuming it's the same model.

Never done Black a Friday at Walmart, but I'm thinking of doing it for the iPad mini. How does the 1hour guarantee work? Do they give those out in the electronics or at a special place?

You can go online and find a map of the store for BF, it will show you where they will be handing out all the Doorbuster items. At my store the Ipad mini is going to be located in one of the grocery isles.

Thank you, I did not know they had the map online. Thanks again!

I'm considering a 32 gb IPad Mini 2 for myself. Anyone seen a better deal than Target (I think there's is $349 + $100 gift card). I wish Best Buy had a deal on the mini--I have a $25 of $250 through Amex.

With my RED card & a $10 coupon from Target, my total cost (including tax) was $240.12 and I have $80 in Target Gift Cards to continue shopping.
