I have an iPad and I have iBooks, Nook, Kindle and FreeBooks all on mine. I have read for 3-4 hours at a time on it without a problem, but you can also change colors to help with that. I have the wifi version, there are sometimes when I do wish I could have gotten a 3G, but I'm making do so far.

I would say no, that no else will have it on the first day, since it doesn't go on sale at the Apple Store until 5pm. They also say on the website now, that you can begin ordering from the website on the 11th, so I guess how quickly you get it, would depend on the shipping.
I guess I will have to go to the mall and get in line because I have absolutely NO patience!!!

Well did anyone get one? I did, had to wait a few hours at Apple and had to get 3G since the 64wifi were gone, but I have it! I am posting from it now.

I got a 16GB WiFi yesterday. Kinda wish I had gotten the 3G version since those have the GPS. Didn't know so many apps use the GPS locator.

I got mine Friday at Best Buy! I had to wait in line 1 1/2 hours to get it! But, I got the one I wanted!

we got in line at 9:30 am outside apple store at the mall of america, about 8th in line.....time went by fast.....by 5:00 there were over 500 ppl in line and when exiting the store at 5:15 the tickets they were handing out we almost gone.....we got a 16gb wifi....so far love it!!!! never had an ereader or ipad, gotta check out those free book apps, any suggestions?

I just ordered mine from my local Verizon store. They said all their stock was gone in 5 min.

Went to the Apple store yesterday and they had sold out on Friday but indicated they were getting deliveries everyday but Sunday. While we were speaking to the associate, she got a call, excused herself for a minute and came back to tell us the delivery just came in. She asked what we were looking for and we indicated that we wanted 2 3G 16GB models with Verizon. She went to get them but when she came back she only had the 32GB. We took them. Check with your local Apple store daily. It should not take long to get one.

I am only getting an ipad 1, but I am stressing over cases too!

I am probably going Wi-Fi only also. I don't think I need 3g. But, with the old one at least, you can buy a 3g, but only pay for a data plan when you want it. So, if you were going on vacation, you could get it for a month then cancel.
But my cell phone has the option of being a wi-fi hotspot, so not sure I would even need to have that.

My big issue will be a case, I obsess over cases and skins LOL! And being brand new there will be very few at first.

I just ordered one at Best Buy yesterday. Put $100 down and they'll call me when it's in (32gb Wi-fi).

I'm not in a real rush for it so didn't want to wait in line. I went with Best Buy as I could buy gift cards at the grocery store and get a discount on my gas ($0.10 per $50 spent). Since I can get up to 30 gallons of gas at a time, that's roughly $40 back on it.

we were standing in a line outside of the store all day ...then store closed from 4-5 pm to get ready for the launch and put black curtains over the windows...and then at 5:00 they reopened and had about 50 staff in the store...they didnt give numbers out they did make us wait in line all day...but they did give us coffee and water over the coarse of the day...lots of ppl brought chairs, didnt even think of it...so we sat on the floor of the mall at least there were two of us so we could take turns standing in line. think standing in line at disney on steriods!

Which store were you at? Ridgedale closed from 3-5, and only the people at the front got coffee LOL. The rest of us only got water. We sat on the floor also, that got very uncomfortable after awhile

we went to the mall of america...mainly because we wanted to get some shopping done while taking turns in line....it was fun

LOL, I was alone, so I made new friends, but couldn't leave the line. None of us drank the water they gave us, because we didn't want to have to use the bathroom .

I finally ordered mine today... 3-5 weeks for delivery. I have one of the unlimited data plans with AT&T on my iPad 1 and I wanted to be absolutely sure they were grandfathering the plan in with the iPad 2. Since they are allowing the plan to be transferred to an iPad 2, I placed my order. I just didn't feel there were enough upgrades to risk my unlimited data plan. I spend a lot of time in my van at various practices and activities for my girls... data gets used often.
