I didn't think it was coming out until Friday - but while syncing my iPhone, I noticed it's available.

My iPhone is updating right now. Can't wait! :)

Its awesome! I just grouped 5 pages of apps into several logically named folders and now only have 2 pages of apps.:cool1:

Also have a nice looking photo on my home screen that I took of the sunset in the Outer Banks this past week and because I have grouped my home screen icons, I can actually see the photo.

Unified email messaging is nice too, I have 3 accounts and now, If I choose, I can view all accounts as one.

Not all of our existing apps will be able to take advantage of multi-tasking until each developer includes that capability in their app and Apple releases it as an update in the app store, but just knowing it's on the way is exciting.

Against all temptation, I resisted jail breaking my iPhone, with every release of a new iPhone OS, I'm glad I've stayed the Apple course.:thumbsup2

Awesome! I dont get my new iPhone until July so ill enjoy the few new features! Thanks!

Why would you resist jail breaking your phone? Simple painless process that allows you to OWN the product YOU purchased. Jailbreaking your phone is even a protected right in Canada, which is written right into our new copyright law.. Imagine if your car manufacturer told you you could only purchase gas from them, or only listen to music that they provided you, or only allow seat covers that they wanted you to use.. you wouldn't be so complacent!!!

I have 3 email accounts and I love the new mailbox feature where you can see all messages at once instead of having to move from mailbox to mailbox.

It is leaving much to be desired on my 3G. The fun will come on Thursday. I did download the iBook app and it is quite sluggish on the 3G.

Just an FYI on what iOS4 can do for you: (I was disappointed to see that iOS4 wouldn't give my 3G multitasking, so I'm posting this in case anyone else has questions about what you will & won't have)

Love the folders... These may actually get me to download more apps since I can organize them now. Also love the new email layout and the multi-calendar options.. This is a winner so far :thumbsup2

My husband was able to download within the first hour it was available. I am trying to download to my computer now - estimated 7 hours for the software to download :scared1:

I'm just going to update from his computer!

I must download the most recent version of iTunes first, and THAT is taking over 40 minutes so far with about a third to go. Grrr. It will take me a while to DL my iOS4:eek:

I'm already thoroughly hooked on the new update. I have the opportunity to buy an iPhone 4 through upgrade, but I think I might sit this one out, at least for awhile. Money. :/

Anyway, there really aren't that many features with the new phone that aren't on the update.

My new personal favorites are the folders (woohoo 2 pages instead of 6!), the "task bar" that lets you see what programs are running, and the lock feature. I just wish it would let you lock the screen in landscape mode not just portrait. I'm also a bit frustrated that most of my apps haven't updated and many crash under the new update. Since I did the update right when it came out just after noon my time (it's now 11pm) I've burned the battery down to 31%...oops ;)

I'm by no means an expert, but I've found almost all the quirks and updates if anybody has any questions :D

I'm at the point where it's saying, "Restoring iPhone applications". Almost done, I think!

No. At WWDC 2010, when Apple announced iOS, they also announced that it would become available for iPad later this fall. (USA)

Very, very cool! Downloaded and installed on my "old" 3G last night. Kind of like getting a new phone for free, and will definitely give me something fun to play with until I can pick up an iPhone 4 next month!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I tried to update mine last night but hit the X button after it said estimated time was 4 hours at 9 pm EST. Yikes. I'll try again this afternoon when I get home and start early so it has time just in case...

So far so good for me--it took 2 tries to get it to download--the first try timed out, but I just did it late at night and that seemed easier. I'm not sure how I feel about the folders. It's going to take a while to get used to, but I'm glad to have the option to use them.

SO thrilled to be able to listen to Pandora while I do other stuff. This is a big one for me.

Every time I try to download to update it freezes during the Back-up. Anyone else having this problem with the 3G? I've restarted my computer and phone to see if that would help. Nothing.
