Which park will be better for kids ages 9 months, 2 years, 4 year and 6 1/2 year old?

I have been to both but never paid to the kids area. It will be a first for all the kids. If we only have one choice, which place would you go to?

What kind of rides and attractions are there?

And do you go early? Stay the whole day (hotel is at Disney)? How and where do you take breaks?

Any kind of advice for traveling w/ kids welcomed. Thanks.

This is a hard question to answer since I only have a 10 year old but I would say IOA based on the Seussland area. There's actually good play areas all over IOA but this one is really special IMO.

I hope that someone with young kids posts soon to help you out.

Well this kinda has to do with your kids and what you think they will enjoy more. The Studios has A day in tha park with Barney, Woody woodpeckers kidz zone, Fievals Playland (I still play here, its my fave :) ), and curious george goes to town. There lots for them to do here and they will love E.T. adventure and the nuthouse coaster... At Islands you will have Seuss Landing... basically an entire island devoted to them with lots and lots of detials.... lots of play places... The cat in the hat ride etc. Camp Jurassic is also lots of fun for kids.... very very interactive, popeyes steamship is really cool... cant remember what its called but it allows them to get inside and play with lots of water.... no matter which park you decide to go to make sure you bring a bathing suite for them.... they will definatly need it. Fievals Playland has waterslides and popeyes boats ges them soaked.... MOST IMPORTANT... go to your local borders, books a million or whatever bookstoe is closest and look for a book entitled Universal Studios with Kids.... it will tell you everything you need to know and help you decide which park fits your kids interests the best... best of luck!!!

Given the age of your kids, I'd say USF has the edge, largely because of Barney and the Curious George water play area. Then, too, there's Nick and the new Jimmy Neutron ride.

IOA appeals to somewhat older kids.
