"Inviting" friends to sync up on MDE

Our Disney trip is overlapping with a friend's family's trip, and we invited our friend to sync up with us on MDe so we could see each others plans and photos etc.

Now I am getting nervous. Is there any chance that our friend can inadvertently change or delete our FP+?

They are able to change your FP...I made FP for my entire family on 2 different accounts and changed them multiple times. They would have to click through all of the steps intentionally to change them, so they would either have to not be paying close enough attention or want to change them on purpose to do so.

I recommend NOT linking anyone. My first friend linked fine. Second friend linking went wrong and I have spent multiple hours on the phone with IT this week. I personally will never link with anyone again. Somehow when I invited one of the friends of the other party, they do not have an MDE account, we morphed into the same person. Three different IT people told me this happens when someone does not have an MDE account. Everything is finally fixed, however, the MDE app that once showed all the correct information for fp's etc. is now showing inaccurate items. The last person I talked to yesterday in IT suggested not using the app while in the parks and to log on through my internet browser. She informed me the entire system had recently crashed and was being rebuilt and keep looking for updates on the app. :(

I'm another who says do NOT link. I don't know about fp because we "unlinked" by then but they couldn't cancel any of my ADR's. They say only "OasterP" can change this reservation.

However - it was a mess. I'm STILL included as a party on one of my friends reservations b/c somehow her husband became me....it's just a big mess. Overall not a bit deal, but confusing and messy.

We had two sets of friends that are all going at the same time and we realized right before making fpasses that there is no way we wanted to stay linked.

Because of my one friends account not only was I her husband, but my other friend must have been somehow too because my friend missed out on a BOG that she was THIS close to getting b/c she got the "you already have a reservation" message. She was NOT happy.

So all that to say - my opinion is stay unlinked and just print a copy for your friends :)

I will never link up family again. It was quite a mess when we did it for one trip. On the next trip we did not link and it was much better. We had to get overlapping fp's, though, since we weren't able to get the exact same times. But other than that we had seamless trips with no problems. :)

EXACTLY what happened to me on the BoG reservation. Thankfully I kept trying and my good fortune was having several resort reservations for a triple split stay. Apparently the BoG site holds your reservation number and since I was logging in based on previous reservations numbers after we linked it would not work. When I received the last resort reservation number I tried as all the members of my party to 'claim the reservation' page found in my internet history. My daughters name ended up being the lucky one that got us into the back end of the BoG reservation page. If I logged in as me it showed I already claimed it. I was getting that fp one way or another :rotfl2:So another reason I will NEVER link again::yes::
