Invitation to BOG FP?

My family has a June vacation planned and I'm currently planning away...
We are staying at Art of Animation which I'm very excited about.
I had originally thought that everyone would be able to use the link circulating around this web site to set up a lunch fp for BOG. I just saw that that is incorrect. You must be sent an email invitation inviting you to participate in the lunch fp program. If that is the case... does anyone know how I can make sure my family qualifies for this? We really want to eat lunch at BOG and would love the convenience of the fp. Since we are staying on property does this mean we will be sent the email? Any experts on this topic I'd love for you to weigh in. Thank you ahead of time! :)

I am watching this as we also have a June trip and would love BOG for lunch. It's my understanding that anyone can book via the link but that it's only available less than 30 days (or maybe even a couple of weeks) before your reservation. Hoping for some answers/advice!:)

I stayed at AoA also.... you will LOVE it!

We got this e-mail like the day before we left... and I knew that my kids wouldn't eat a single thing there. So, we didn't do it.

I never got an e-mail. I just googled the link (about 30 days before our trip), went there and set up my lunch ressie.

Has that changed? :confused3

(We'll be onsite at the Pop next week.)

I was sifting through the restaurant review thread and found that a number of people used the link that they obtained right from the dis and made fp reservations for lunch. Then, when they arrived at BOG for their lunch there was no reservation. They were turned away. On the same thread people were telling the posters with this experience that in order to obtain the fp you must be invited via email. I'm scared to use the link now if it won't work. I guess I'll wait and hope to receive an email invitation and then print the confirmation in case there is a glitch. Even though the lunch menu isn't impressive to my family we are really looking forward to the overall experience of the restaurant etc.

I used this link: https://beourguestlunch.disney.go.com/

It's Disney's own website, and requires you to use your account to log in, including your resort reservation number. I will, of course, be taking a picture of our ressie before going (I do that with all FP+).

I'm not worried about not being in the system.

I can't imagine what was going on in that thread you saw.

While I used this in November without any invitation, I was also recently told by a CM that it is invitation only. I am still going to try it out though because I have received HORRENDOUS advice from CM's for this trip. Unless something changed quite recently, it is still accepting all fastpass reservations even without invitations. What's the worst that could happen? :confused3 Just be flexible and if you are turned away, try somewhere else. It's better than not trying at all. :thumbsup2

See what you think... I'm hoping that it was just a glitch or that I will in fact be sent the invitation.

I'm not convinced... how would the "official email" change anything, if you end up with the same link anyway? And still have to enter your resort reservation number? After all, there's no place to input any kind of secret code or anything.

During our last trip in December, we had several occasions when they couldn't find our ride FP+ in their system. Very similar to what I read in that thread you linked. If we hadn't taken pictures with our phone, they would have turned us away (and did the first time, whereupon we had to go find a guest services CM to help us out). If ride FP+ can get lost, I'm sure BOG FP can, too.

Having proof is always a good idea, but never more so with things currently in flux.

I'll be sure to post again in about a week! :goodvibes

We used the link for our trip the second week of March and it worked fine. When we checked in, they had our reservation. Our pre-ordered picks, however, did not show up when we went to pay, but it only took a minute or two to put them back in. Having said that, I wasn't at all impressed with the lunch food and prefer dinner much more!

Also, we did receive the invitation the day we arrived at WDW, but I didn't click on it since we already had a FP.

We received the email invite a day before both our reservations, split stay, during spring break. It was kinda disappointing though because when I tried the link right after getting the email it said no reservations available. They really should work this out and give a pin or something if they are going to "invite" people.

I just used the link and was able to get a FP+ for BOG on April 3

I have used the link multiple times with no real troubles. The first time I used it, the cast member couldn't find me in the system but a second cast member found me in just a few seconds. The other times have been perfect. I have been invited a few times and following the link in the invitation was no different from following the link here. (I had no need for the invitation because I had already set up my reservation)

Cast members will tell you that you have to be invited because, technically, you should only be able to get the fastpass if you are invited. They can't just go around announcing this link to everyone.

One thing that can happen, and what I believe might be happening to the people who have been turned away, is that after you go through the process of making your fastpass selection, it is not saved in the system. There have been many people who, after they confirmed their time, found that the system didn't actually confirm anything. If you make your reservation successfully, you will be able to go back into the system and see it. If it doesn't save, going back into the system will only let you select a new time. Make sure your reservation is actually confirmed before going!!

Also, I think some of the people who said they were turned away weren't staying on property. A few talked about needing to use the fastpass+ kiosks and not being able to use the app to change fastpass selections. Both signs of an off-property stay. I don't have any proof of this (just what I gathered from various posts), but you have to be staying on property to get into the system.

To summarize - stay on property and make sure your reservation is not only confirmed, but also viewable by going back into the system to check that it is there.

I used posted link back in January and had no issues. I got invite while at WDW for FEB. trip and I know DH got one either right before trip or during trip.

This would be my main fear, with regards to waiting until I get an invite. Odds are good there won't be any reservation times left.

The way I see it, there's less risk in just booking early, than there is in waiting until the last minute. So I'm glad I did!

I just logged in and can see my reservation and order sitting there all pretty. I'm looking forward to our meal! :goodvibes

Can someone tell me what the difference is between FastPass Direct to Table or FastPass Expedited Arrival?

We are going in middle of May and I check every day to see with that link. I missed that there was invites for it.

I have a print out of the confirmation but when I try to log back in and see it, it only gives me the option to book another one so I'm guessing it's not actually saving ?!?

I'm guessing in your case it's definitely not saving and almost certainly won't be there when you show up for your meal. I'd keep trying!

It might be worth a stop in at Guest Services on your first day, with your confirmation in hand, to see if they can make sure you're in the system. Or you could even try calling Disney's customer service line now, if you have a confirmation number.

When I log in, I see a screen that says this:

Welcome to Be Our Guest Restaurant!

Get in the Fast Lane and experience the next generation of Quick Service dining.

Welcome, Magpie!

Thanks! I see that screen too, but the only option I'm able to click on is the first one to "select or replace".
