This is a what would you do post.....

We are inviting immediate family only....thus making formal invitations not necessary. The problem is there are many other family/friends that we would like to send something to...not really an invite (because well frankly we are having an intimate--they are not invited!) but an announcement of sort.

What have others done in this situation? What would you do?

I have the same problem. We have mentioned to all the family we want to be there by word of mouth. We thought about posting invitations to them.

After a conversation with my future mother-in-law, it all seams pointless sending them out ...

... BUT ...

... how are they going to know where to be and when.

Then our thinkings was present them at the airport with some type of agenda of our movements through the two weeks.

Not sure if that helped or added to the confusing questions.

Alot of people just send out Annoucements. You can even buy Disney ones at most of the Wedding Invitation places.

We ordered announcements from a party store that were worded almost the same as the invitation, but instead of "request the honor of your presence" it said "are thrilled to announce". We got a list from each of our parents of who they wanted them mailed to and then added our own. We did them before we left for the wedding and mailed them when we got home, followed by our Christmas cards that year because we got home a week before the holiday!

I had an intimate, we didn't have any guests...

about two weeks after the wedding (I was waiting to get some photos back) I created wedding announcements to send.

I don't remember exactly what they said but it was something like this:

We went away for a much needed vacation

And got married in a MAGICAL location

Denise and Greg were married

September 20, 2005

at Sea Breeze Point

Walt Disney World

and then I gave them the link to my wedding photos.

I attached a pic of Goofy "marrying" us on the front of the cards.

It was a nice way to announce our wedding and share some photos with our family and friends.

Go here:

Select Weddings and then pick a category such as Announcements. There are some good ideas for verses.

On a similar topic, has anyone ordered invitation cards from this Carlson Craft? Many invitation web sites on the Internet (including www.fairytalewedding.com that Disney suggests to use) are just fronts for Carlson Craft. They all sell the same cards at the same prices and all have the same policies - that of Carlson Craft.

Thank you, Thank You, and Thank You.

This is exactly the info I was looking for.

We will be doing an itinerary with all the details on it for each family coming with us. The announcements are great for after the fact!

I'm also having an intimate wedding with only about 12 guests. (just immediate family).

I'm using email newsletters for those guests who are attending in addition to the disney web page to keep all guests updated on activities and plans.

After the wedding I'm going to send pictures to those friends and relatives who were not invited. Close relatives will get a nice framed picture with a note, the rest will get pictures and a card or a picture postcard.

Hope that helps.
