Invitation Charms

Hi Everyone,

I am currently planning my wedding in Disneyland. I am working on some mock ups for my invitations and want to add some charms. I would perfer if they were Disney- either the castle (where we got engaged! ) or mickey (the theme seems to be hidden mickeys!). Does anyone know where I can find inexpensive ones? And by inexpensive I mean like $1 each. I can't afford $4-$6 per invite for charms alone.

Or if you have another idea completely I would love to hear it!

I am not sure about charms, per se, but you can get a lot of Disney stuff in the scrapbooking aisle of your local craft store. There might also be things like a carriage (Cinderella) or some other icon that can be incorporated into your design in the jewelry making aisle. I made necklaces out of pop bottle caps from the scrapbooking aisle, for example. Earrings could be made the same way. There might be something that could be made into a charm.

Thank you! I actually just went to Micheal's this evening. I did peruse the jewelry aisle and saw some stars that I might be able to use. I appreciate your thoughts. I'll have to go back when I have more time to spend in the aisles.

You could try orientaltrading.com. I don't know if they have what you are looking for, but they do have bulk lots for 7.95+. Some of them are 24 pieces per lot. Good luck and congrats!!

Ditto on the scrapbooking comment. They have some Mickey head buttons which would be cute and Mickey and princess photo corners that could be used. There are also Mickey paper clips which would be perfect, you get 8 of them in a pack, usually you can find them on sale

You know I just thought about buttons! I used them as charms for my Bridesmaid cards so I don't know why I didn't think about it. Thanks for all the great ideas everyone!

One way to be frugal at Michaels...send the word out to all your friends, especially those who are very uncrafty, that you are needing the 40% off coupons for Michaels. Then buy what you need, one item at a time at a 40% discount. Those same friends can shop with you and check out one item at a time to help save time.
