Inventory gone again

I actually had two reservations and the first one I changed without a problem, the second one not so much.

Then it sounds like the rooms are actually gone if you snagged one and not the other.

Well.... shouldn't be. We have seen may case when this has been the case will AKV Val, AKV Club, and BWV Std have "holes" in 11 months +1 to 6 days with available at 11 months. and the conversations with MS always goes "other people must have the rooms booked already". When it should never be the case. If you have one of the rooms booked on the 15th, there is no way other than Disney removing inventory before 11 months or an IT "glitch", that you should not be able to book a room on the 16th.

I think the walkers for the fall frenzy have begun. Don't be surprised if the 15th is available tomorrow or the next day and the 16th and or 17th become unavailable.

Is the theory that it only happens in those room types, or that it probably happens everywhere but we only notice on those rooms because they're the ones people walk?

AKV Value is especially weird. Is that bookable as a cash room, even in theory? What would Disney be doing with the room if they were, in fact, pulling it from inventory?

No real theory if it is limited to these room types or if it in done on all room types, but the only time it effects availability is for the highly desirable rooms. Yes Disney does offer all categories for cash including akv value. They have points from exchange and buyback and they can offer rooms from any category. But when using these points they are subject to the same booking rules as members. They should not be allowed to pull rooms from inventory before the 11 month mark. Are they doing this? We don’t know, but it looks questionable. And when asked to explain how rooms are not available, they give an wrong/vague answers. Just another case of poor communication and it leads us to wonder if they are violating the POS, by not following the same booking rules as members.

We’ve never walked so I don’t know much about it. Is it really necessary to walk for vgf in fall? We own there and knock on wood have never had an issue getting a room there in the fall.

this is exactly what happened, however the 17th was already unavailable yesterday evening

I was trying to book for Halloween week this year, and it was all gone in 11M + couple weeks, so available longer than I thought it would be.

Really necessary to get a room, or necessary because many folks are walking when they don't need to?
Based on what I am seeing here's the studios that folks are likely walking. And my estimate if the walking is really needed. But once lots of folks are walking it becomes "needed" in order to be confident you will get the exact days you need, if your needs are specific
BLT - std only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand
AKV Jambo - Val needed
AKV Jambo club needed
RR tower only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand
BWV STD only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand - but close
BWV BWview only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand - but close
VGF Std only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand
CCV only needed because of many walkers, not daily demand

Sad but real. Members just believe availability may get tight, so the start walking early, which just drives more of the behavior.

Hahaha! I didn't come up with the term, but could be! Are we sure that Disney IT isn't located in the Haunted Mansion! So crazy!!! LOL

I was just on the DVC site and I know where Disney IT is now. They are not in the Haunted Mansion , all 7 of them are on the DVC site telling me THEY ARE WORKING ON IT.
Can't Disney hire more of them.

I got them to but I just hit the back button and then it worked. Should not have to but hey, I got done what I needed.

Updated guests, and then canceled a trip on one membership and able to pick up quickly on the other!
