2 weeks to go and I still have not decided where to eat during our stay, I can not decide if we should do Inventions, as I read that it was mostly sea food?
Can somebody give me an example of foods which is served on the buffet?

Thank you.:)

Morning Wideeyes,

We ate there at Christmas and have to be honest and say it was the most dissapointing meal we booked.

The hotel and restaurant itself is lovely. The character interaction is really good. :goodvibes The CM's were goodthe night we ate there (6pm) but I was very very dissapointed in the food and did not feel the range was good VFM.

Its is very seafood based but very basic seafood with not as much choice as say the Blue Lagoon which IMHO is a far better choice for ambience and food (but of course lacks the character interaction if tht is what you are looking for).

Whilst there ws a children's area, that too was very limited. We are very lucky as our daughter will try almost anything (and did) but for all of us it was a bit of a dissapointment for the 120 euros its cost the 3 of us.

If you are a seafood lover and dont want a vast choice then the food was well cooked and presented.

I'm sure someone else will be along soon to give their opinion but please remember this is only my take on the place - your eating out experiences will be based on a lot of things which may not be issues for someone else.

Good luck with your choices. :yay: :goodvibes

Oh dear - I was really looking forward to trying out Inventions, I was basing it on what information there is on DLP food guide, seafood, salads, hot and cold meals, roast meats - is that not the case ?

I don't want to spend that sort of money if the boys aren't going to find anything they like, especially as Jamie's classed as an adult. :sad2:

Hi Jill,

There were a few cold meats as a starter choice which you could have with some dressing and I think hot Veal in a wine sauce was an option as a main.

Plain salad was an option for all courses although IMHO if you want to eat a cold meat salad with vinegarette dressing then dont pay that sort of money for it.

The three of us thought it was not a 'dining experience' but more of a 'have done it' one but as I said, its horses for courses and we all felt let down by the choice of food for the cost. Maybe we were just unlucky and the array of food was poor the night we were there.

I am glad we did it but given there are some really wonderfull dining experiences to be had in the resort, probably would not go again. The California Grill sounds so much better for food

Its only my opinion Jill - you may go and love it , as so many others have done. :goodvibes

Besides the hotel itself is spectacular and well worth having a pre-meal cup of coffee in the lounge waiting area outside :goodvibes

There are salads and cold meats etc. to start then a cold seafood selection, and a selection of hot dishes which always includes a roast of the day, a fish dish, a chicken dish, a pasta dish and other hot specialswith a selection of potato and veg sides. There are also a couole of kids selections which normally include pizza, potato smilies and nuggets etc. a dessert a cheese selection are available to finish off with. It's not the best value meal in DLRP IMO but character interaction is quite good.

It was great and for every taste something.
If you wish to know what`s on the normal menu just call Inventios but I`m pretty sure the choice of meat will be not just one kind.

Thanks for that info Dr.JumbaJookiba - I like to book the table service restaurants to avoid the chicken nuggets/smilie faces fayre, from what you've said I'm sure the boys will find something - they aren't fussy eaters but none of us (myself included) would choose seafood as first choice, it seems there will be plenty of alternatives.

The alternative would be Cafe Mickey, which incidently by comparison has had some very good reviews on DLP foodguide recently, and I couldn't fault the meal or service we had there - I'll let you know what we decide.:)

We ate there in September 2004. And back than it was the best buffet we ever had! The food is great! We ate there for 2h. And my boyfriend said this was the most perfect food selection he ever had!
And don't forget the great character interaction! :thumbsup2
