Inventions lunch or dinner?

Looking forward to booking this for May. Do they have characters at lunch and dinner? I notice that lunch is cheaper - is the food on the buffet different at lunch and dinner? On the DLP Ultimate Food Guide it says that there may be a 20% discount before 6pm - wondered if this is accounted for in the price quoted on the site?

Someone went at Christmas and there were no characters at Lunch . We booked at 6pm and although there was no discount we did get the characters to ourselves for a while.

We went for evening dinner (I think about 6.30pm) and they had a nice handfull of characters. We actually booked it without knowing it was a character meal so it was a nice surprise. I do not believe that the lunches have characters although breakfasts do if you are a guest at DLH.

If you want characters then you can only do in the evening

Now I am closer to sorting my itinerary. So far...

Tuesday (day of arrival) - lunch in Studios, dinner at Cafe Mickey.

Wednesday - DL park - early dinner Walts

Thursday - Studios - lunch counter service in park, dinner (6-6.30pm) - Inventions

Friday - DL park breakfast Plaza Gardens, dinner Annette's diner.

Saturday - Good morning Fantasyland breakfast, lunch back at Cheyenne then home.

BTW, where do you recommend for counter service in the Studios? - last time we struggled for a good one.

Any comments on this plan?

One of our favourites is Backlot Express

Always fancied Cafe des Cascudeurs(sp?) but it was closed on our last visit.
