Hi,
Once again it is me with an unusual question.
Today, my question is about the price of inventions.
It is about 20 euros cheaper to eat at lunch than it is at dinner.
I'm guessing the characters aren't there at the lunch which kind of makes the price go down but do they serve any different food than they would or wouldn't at the dinner buffet?
I was just wondering what makes the price dramatically cheaper at lunch time?

Ive never heard of anyone who's been at lunchtime apart from when they have done the themed character sunday lunches that they sometimes do. However my understanding has always been that the food is the same but theres no characters - however it might be that theres not as much choice as in the evening

we've always gone at lunchtime because we don't have children yet.

i don't know what it's like at dinner but the buffet tables are completely full - there are no spaces so unless theres a whole other buffet area they open for dinner i assume its the same!

there was a lot of selection. cold meats, cheese, mountains of prawns, cold veg, salad, bread for starters. there was about 12 hot dishes including things like pasta, diaphanous potatoes, some sort of game (bf thought it was quail - i wouldnt know didnt try it!) roast beef, hot veg, risotto, a fish dish, kids nuggets and fish fingers, spaghetti, potato faces, chips. large selection of deserts with pots of sweets, cakes, freezer of ice cream and cheeses. - oh there was also always a chef near the hot food with a joint of meat. once it was lamb and once veal

i'm also interested to know if it's the same for dinner, just with the addition of the characters?

See I'm the same as you. We don't have kids and to be honest, I'm not that bothered about characters so if it is just the characters that make it an extra 20 euros each, I'll go on our last day before we catch the train to the airport.
Can anyone shed any light on this one?

That food sounds exactly the same as in the evenings so the extra price is obviously for the character interaction

My betting is that it will be the same food and the price reduction is purely because there aren't any characters there at lunchtime. Other restaurants that offer lunchtime buffets ie. Plaza Gardens and Lucky Nugget are the same price and same food when they are open for dinner too.

p.s. Not a good idea to read a thread about Inventions when I'm starving ;)

Lol, I've just eaten a homemade cottage pie so I'm all good but really looking forward to Inventions on my 21st birthday as I've never been before.

The one thing I was dreading was that they would have less food/choices at lunch time but if its cheaper because of the characters not being there then thats great as I'm not overly fussed about them :)

really looking forward to eating here in August. Not sure how we have managed to miss it before. going in the evening so the children can see the characters :cool1:

i really really want to go inventions for my birthday ...but.......i dont think my partner would appreciate the quality of food - i know that sounds really horrible but he is such a fussy eater he wont eat any pasta or seafood nor is he allowed to eat cheese plus he not really in to desserts either... the only thing he eats at home is roast dinners , steak , sausages ,chips , fajitas ( not even with veg just spicey chicken and lettuce) he likes plain meats ..the cheyenne was perfect for him lol

This thread has been very interesting to read! I've been trying to decide where to eat when we're there for my 19th birthday in December and as this is my first time not staying at DLH I thought it might be nice to have a meal there and get drinks at Café Fantasia. :lovestruc

Right now it's a battle between Blue Lagoon, Auberge and Inventions. We'll eat at all three over our stay, but I can't decide where to go on my actual birthday.

Inventions is definitely tempting! :goodvibes

I can only compare the Sunday character lunch buffet with the evening buffet.

But in thise case the lunch buffet beat the evening buffet by a mile. The dessert area has at least twice as many selections. ;) The starters seemed about the same and I think the main course section did have two more choices.

Thanks for all your responses. I don't know if I'm going here on my actual birthday anymore as I don't want to get completely stuffed that I can't have a few cheeky cocktails on my 21st so I may leave it until the last day were there so we'll both be full on the plane home :rotfl:

Looks lush!!!!! How much is the sunday bruch in Inventions & how is it compared to The Steakhouse? Thanks

I haven't done Steakhouse, so I can't really compare.

The Inventions brunch was a little over 60 Euro I think. I will report back in Tuesday on an exact price, I really can not remember anymore.

It was by far my favorite character meal so far. Otherwise I always had lack of character interaction or problems with the food etc. Inventions did have some dishes labeled wrong, but the food was warm and actually tasty. ;)

I've not been to the Inventions brunch (yet!!!) but looking at photos IMO it's far superior to the Steakhouse brunch. That's not meant to be a criticism as we've always thoroughly enjoyed the Steakhouse brunch but I would expect more from the Inventions one considering how much more it costs.

I'm ba-ha-ck. ;)

Cost is 59 Euro, drinks extra.

Food was delicious, the dessert section was even extended compared to last time. Photos will follow shortly.

It does look like the secret is out though, there were far more people there than last time and unfortunately several groups of kids running after the characters too.

Mickey sat with me and looked through my pictures, although he seemed annoyed by something and not even the CM that came to help me could figure out what he didn't like. :confused3

Lilo went through my pin book and so freaked on poor Stitch when she discovered I had a pin of him getting quite close to Arielle.

Chip and Dale stopped for photos a couple of times and I even got to dance with Chip.

Glad you enjoyed it, however that is so expensive, it should be good.
59 euro's and drinks extra.
I would want Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto in fact I would want them all there, every single character there is. :)
