Hi there!

This is my Newb Post to the boards even though Ive been lurking for some time. I have to say the community here is incredible and has provided me with a wealth of information that i have used on previous trips, So thank you!

About me:
I'm Married and live in the Tampa/ Clearwater area, about 80 miles out of Orlando or so. I grew up in this area, and I've been to Disney more times than i can count but until I found this board I didn't realize what we were missing with all the secrets and tips from members here, My Wife and I recently picked up the Preferred FL Residents Annual passes with the Water parks and more options. Which Brings me to my question ..

My Wife's birthday is this month and we have booked a three day stay at ASMU ( our first time at a Disney resort ) for a long weekend. Usually we are "Resort Row" types, closer to DTD and what not, but got a good passholder deal on the ASMU rooms. Since it is her Birthday, I wanted to get suggestions on what ideas some of you have to make it something that she will really remember and add a little bit of that magic to our stay. She is turning 29 and certainly appreciates the more "mature" side of the parks and resorts, As she is a Schoolteacher and deals with kids who aren't ours 5 days a week :lmao: Any and all Ideas are appreciated!

Dan

There is a lot you can do, but ultimately it would depend upon what you think she would enjoy.

Spa treatment at the Grand Floridian?

How about parasailing over Bay Lake (Contemporary)? Or something I did with a friend that we really enjoyed was the morning Jet Ski tour around the 7 seas lagoon and bay lake. The tour is only offered on the VERY First Jet ski time of the day, and they will take you around the entire lagoon and lake. It's also before all the gnats hit the water in the morning, so it's quite nice.

Don't know if the two of you would enjoy it but tea at the Grand Floridian is a nice relaxing thing to do - last trip I took my mom and she loved it.

Those are all great ideas folks, thanks! Its looking like the weather will be a little chilly in this area next weekend if this past week has been any indication, so that is also starting to factor into our plans a bit. We discussed the DTD evening idea, eating , balloon ride and drinks at Paradisio, There was a Great Duo Playing there on the outside patio that we stopped to listen to that were excellent, and obviously the days are filled with parks. I appreciate those of you that took the time to answer!
