So I'm wondering how it all works. Your payment options. Does it have to paid in full or is there financing. Do you put a down payment on it? What are the annual dues? Is it a percentage of you total amount? Or is there a round about price that you can tell me. And can you add more points on? Right now there are just 3 of us in our family, but later we would like to have more children which means we would need more points.

Also. how does it work when purchasing tickets for WDW? Can you still do the magic you way plus dining? Or is that package not an option with this? Or is the DVC dining discount a better deal?

There is financing available... The longest term is 10 years. You are required to put some down payment at time of purchase. Annual dues are fees for the maintenance and upkeep of the DVC Resorts. Each resort has a different $/point fee. You can add points on at any time to your membership.

Normal down payment is 10%. In cases where credit history can be a problem, DVC may require higher down payments. If you finance for 10 years, the current APR is something around 10.75%. There are additional costs: You will be required to pay part of the closing costs. Also, dues will be prorated for the remainder of the calendar year.

Dues vary by resort, and are currently in the low $4 to high $4 range. You can pay dues monthly with automatic debits to a checking account. Or you can pay them annually, in January, via credit card, etc.

Dues cover all expenses, including taxes, so there is nothing to pay once you check in except for purchases you may make.

Minimum purchase for a new member, buying direct from Disney, is 150 points currently.

You can add more points at any time. It's a minimum of 25 points if you pay in full, or a minimum of 50 points if you finance.

As to you dining question, you can add the dining plan, it is the same as the MYW dining plan, except it is not booked as a "package", you are free to purchase your park tickets anywhere you wish, and any type you wish.

All people in your room must be on the plan for the length of your DVC reservation. It is $38.99 per adult and $10.99 per child per night of your DVC reservation. You pay for it at check-in. It must be added to your reservation prior to your arrival at the resort.

the difference in dvc and regular room rental at disney is that in a few years you will be staying for free (except for the annual dues). you do have to make reservations further in advance, altho once in a while you may luck up and get a res on short notice, and you can always do wait list. you can get a larger space (1,2,or more rooms)which is very expensive if you rent it.
a great advantage is knowing where you will be staying and that while you are there you feel at home---thats because you are!! the greatest part of all is the wonderful cms who help you with res. and anything else your heart desires. that is a luxury and it is all inclusive. how you handle food and park tickets is up to you. if you can manage it you will love it.:goodvibes
