Intrawest, San Destin, FL?

We booked a week - 2-bedroom unit for the first week of March. Has anyone had any experience with this resort? The photos look great, but who knows ?

Any comments on this particular resort would be appreciated!! Thanks..

While I haven't stayed at the Intrawest property, I have stayed at the Sandestin resort. (We happened to drive by the Intrawest property, and it looks nice. It is on the marsh/bay side of the property, though.)

The resort is very nice and has on-property shuttles to go to the beach or to the restaurant areas. Great for kids and adults.

There are two things that are a must for us when we are there:
1. Eat breakfast at Another Broken Egg - It is located in the main shopping/eating area. There are other ABE's around the Destin area as well.

2. There is a playground across the small lake/pond from the main shopping/eating area that the kids love!

I've never stayed @ the resort cause my sister lives right down the road. Destin is just a tropical paradise. My sister and bil have been to Hawaii, Fiji, and a lot of islands and Destin is by far the prettiest w/the whitest sand!! I got there as much as I can!! Now, you have to do this!!! Go to the Silver Sands Outlet and go to the Disney Character Warehouse. They have all the merchandise from the parks that are from the previous yr. in this store. It's not a big store but we get the best deals here before we go on our disney trips. Photo albums, t-shirts, purses, kitchen stuff,etc. Love it!!! We are going back during Easter and I hope they have a lot of good stuff. You will be amazed.

Thank you both for the helpful information. Is the weather in March nice? Can you swim, or is it basically low 60's.?

March weather can be very iffy. You might get some high 70's. The pools if heated will be fine, the gulf will still be very cold.

The resort is beautiful as is the entire Sandestin resort property where the Intrawest is located. Be sure to visit Baytowne Wharf, a great place for dining, shopping and entertainment. Another Broken Egg is located at Baytowne Wharf.

There is a very nice outlet mall just up the road, and a very nice upscale mall with theater just a little further toward Destin.

For great seafood be sure to try the Crab Trap on old 98 or the The Back Porch.
