Hi i have booked an intimate wedding for september 5th 2005 and am becoming very excited! Though i am starting to panic! I am from the UK and haven't recieved our planning packet yet which we should have gotten by now. There is so much that i want for my day. Can anyone help me with a few problems i have.

1st: i want to book my magic kingdom portrait session as soon as possible how do i do this?

2nd: I want to have a romantic meal with my partner after the event, where is best as he is a very fussy eater! and when can i book this?

3rd: I want to make our day as magical as i can, any ideas?

4th: Does anyone know how to contact the disney wedding department? an email address would be fantastic!

5th: Has anyone had probrlems with sound on their disney videos when marrying at sunset point? Just i am a little worried about the sound of the wind?

Thank you for any advice anyone gave give! princess:

hiya, me and gary are getting married on the 21st november. firstly congratulations, we are also flying out from the uk.
i'd get in contact with whoever you've booked with to find out about the planning packet. virgin sent out my wedding confirmation along with theirs and disney's planning packet, so get in contact with your tour operator.
i phoned disney weddings and they said that you need to book the MK portrait session through your wedding coordinator and they said i'd have to wait til i get assigned one. i then phoned virgin holidays and they said i have to put in in writing, so ive put it on their planning sheet as well as the one disney sent me, and i sent both off on tuesday, so hopefully someone will get in touch. (steve from this board said he's booked his through thompson, so try your tour operator). most past disney brides suggest doing this one to two days after your wedding. if you do it the morning of your wedding, be careful not to get your dress dirty.
you can get sample menus of all the disney restaurants from allearsnet.com who also list loads of tips and hints for your holidays, so check that out. from what i can gather you can make priority seating arrangements up to 4 months in advance. phone (from the uk) 001 407 939 3463
we're staying at the port orleans riverside and i'm going to take gary on a night horse and carriage ride, its $30 for half an hour, but it'll be worth the money for the romance factor. they also operate at the fort wilderness resort. you can also hire the disney breathless speedboat to see the illuminations fireworks for about $175 (up to seven passengers). or hire a pontoon boat for about $120 (up to 10 passengers). or you could go for a couples pampering session at the grand floridian spa.
not sure on an email address for disney weddings but you can phone them on (from the UK) 001 321 939 4610. there's loads of stuff on the intimate wedings (including cake choices, choices of flowers, and loads of other options) on the new disney weddings site www.disneyweddings.com
not sure on the video, but i'm sure someone will be able to help on that point.

hope ive been of some help
feel free to email me if youve got any questions, karenangelatan@lycos.co.uk

lastly be sure to check if you can still travel on the visa waiver programme: my passport runs out 5 months and 21 days after we get back but it has to be at least 6 months after you get back, so i now need a new passport. if your passport was issued after october 2004 you now need a visa, so i now need a new passport, a visa, and then have to get another passport after i get back when i change my name. stupid isn't it!!!!!!!

You have been very helpful! I am with thomas cook signature and so far they have been fab! i will go and see them next weeK and ask about the package!
i am very excited, even more so that i can now say that i am getting married this year! I may ring disney to see if they know anything about my planning package? I just want to feel relaxed, as at moment i have nothing much 'offically' booked and that freaks me! i am having disney characters, extra photo sessions etc and none are booked! oh the stress from doing it from the UK, though i am sure it is stressful for everyone no matter where they are from! princess:

If anyone else has any other tips i would love to hear them! Thank you :grouphug:

I am a U.S. Disney bride so I am not sure if the information I was given will be the same that you are given. I was told that they are no longer mailing out planning packets because of the change to the Disney Weddings Website.

As I understand it and I could be totally wrong but the last sales person I talked to when I called to ask about my planning packet gave me this information. On the Disney Weddings website they have that wish book feature that should be working sometime soon (she couldn't define soon for me). When that is workinhg that is how everything will be done and chosen. Until then once you are assigned to an EM they will e-mail you some forms (they call it a packet) that you begin working on. However everything you choose comes from the website.

When is your wedding?

We get married at sunset point on september 5th at 5:00pm! Am very excited! we arrive at disney on september 1st and dont come back to england until september 19th!

Rev Jack Day is doing our wedding and am in 2 minds if to book ray chapman for extra photography on the day as well as disney? princess:

Thank you to everyone for your replys they are very helpful!

Your day sounds a lot like mine will be in July. I too am having Rev Jack Day, and I did book Randy Chapman for photography instead of Disney. :)

lorapinky, did thomas cook tell you the time of your wedding or did you get it from disney? i've been told by virgin holidays that i'll get assigned a time when i get there. so we're pretty much in the dark about the ceremony time until we get there.
does anyone know if or how i can find out the time (we're getting married in the wedding pavilion) cos i'm thinking about planning an illuminations dessert party.
thanks

My intimate wedding coordinator said there is plenty of time to plan it.
I decided on a disney wedding in November 2004 & my wedding was on Jan. 10 2005 that was only 2 months. I gave her a filled out questionire about a week ahead of time! Believe me don't stress it there is lots of time. Just get your dress, the bridesmaids stuff all together & then worry about the rest when it comes closer!
lots of luck!!

thomas cook asked me what time i wanted to get married! I asked for 5:00pm! I was told that we have asked for this time and that this is the one we should get but disney may have to change it if need be! I think we have to remind disney when we get there too! But we were asked what time we wanted when we booked the wedding! Does any of that help? :bride:

thanks lorapinky, that reminds me that i asked virgin for ours about 2-4 or something so hopefully it should be around that time.

Just an idea...take a look at the menus on Allearsnet.com and check out the Private Dining at the Grand Floridian. It's a little more costly, but EXTREMELY romantic. They serve a custom planned meal course by course--Butler style--at one of the romantic/secluded areas of the Grand Floridian. You can even have the dinner served on the Grand Floridian yacht (I believe it's called the Grand 1)! If you're looking for that extra something special and don't mind it being more expensive, it's definitely worth checking out.
Good luck & Congrats!

Karentan, we have also booked through Virgin.
We were allocated a specific time quite quickly.
One of the advisors from the Weddings department of Virgin called us and asked for our preferences and then gave us the nearest available time and dates.
Once they have a provisional time from you, it takes a day or two to be confirmed with Disney. I am fairly sure this all happened no more than a month after our initial booking.

Hope this helps....Feel free to e-mail me directly if you want further info. You should be able to do that by clicking on my name to the left on here.

Kind regards,
Russ.

That's interesting when I booked mine the times were 9, 11, 1, 3 and 5. I'm going to have to make sure that my wedding really is at 5.

Do the times vary depending on location and day of the week?

Those times were for Intimate weddings only at the WP who can have mon-thurs at the times above. Custom weddings at the WP are different. Not sure what days/times you can have at the other places.

Gradtchr...is your wedding am intimate or custom?

Mine is an intimate at Sunset Pointe but I was quoted the same times for Wedding Pavilion.
