Intimate weddings and Non-Disney photographers?

So you had 2 photographers at your wedding? I didn't think photographers liked that? I thought you had to use your Disney photographer for a honeymoon shoot if you had an external photographer?

Yes we had two. The Disney photographer did the arrivals and Ryan did the rest. No probs. :thumbsup2

Good idea! Use one photographer for the arrival, and the other for the ceremony/reception!
:thumbsup2

Thank you ALL for the wonderful information on this site. Clicked on the link for Chapman and it refers to a 'Disney Bride' password, any idea what this is??

Hi there! :wave2:

Did you have the UK wedding package by any chance? I am pretty sure that the North American package does not allow for both the Disney and the outside vendor to be there at the same time. And there has also been a difference in the photo packages in the past, too.

Also, we will be traveling from Canada for our Intimate and have tried to contact Ryan from Total Imagery several times and did not ever get a response. I think he only works exclusively with UK weddings through Virgin for Disney weddings.

But as mentioned previously, DFTW will allow you to swap the 2hr coverage for a Honeymoon session.

In regards to having two photographers present for the wedding, it's best to check with your EM to be sure!

Briarrosegold,

Who took the photo's you had done in the Grand Floridian? Is this where you had your reception?

I, too, am having an intimate wedding. We are planning an August 6th 2007 wedding, but we cannot resereve the pavilion until 8 months before August 6th, which is December 6th! I am planning my traditional reception at home on August 17th anyway, and whatever I can get on the 6th for my ceremony will do.
I am skeptical to book Randy Chapman now, especially if I do not get the time I want from Disney. Randy's wife said they could switch the date for me if I needed to - UNLESS HE'S ALREADY BOOKED - which he probably will be by how popular he is. Do you all believe I am safe waiting until December to book him? I feel it is too much of a risk too book him and lose $350.00 if Disney doesn't have my date AND time.
Suggestions?!

I just sent my contract back to my coordinator and it clearly stated that if choose to get a photographer other than disney that you have to pay for someone to stay with the photographer the whole time like a guide or something and I think the cost was $90 for 3 hours. Is this new or did any of you have to pay this fee?

I have heard this mentioned before but as an intimate vow renewal, we did not pay anything to have Randy at our event. Are you by any chance a custom having an in-pak event? Wondering if maybe that is the difference? Check with your coordinator to find out for sure exactly what they are referring to.

Rumor has it this charge is always mentioned up front (any non-Disney person has to have a CM as an escort) but most brides have reported afterward that Disney did not actually charge them this fee. So, you should budget/plan for it, but don't be surprised if it isn't included in the final charges.

I also think it may make a difference as to which outside photographer you are using. Randy apparently used to work for Disney Photo services, so he probably is still kinda considered "one of the gang".

I wonder how much Randy would charge to just take a Honeymoon photo shoot? I am really interested in doing a Honeymoon photo shoot but I want the most for my money, you know? :thumbsup2 And he sounds really good!! I love his pictures! They are excellent!

I just wanted you to know that I'm pretty sure the only kind of honeymoon shoot he could do would be around the resorts (which would be good enough for me :teeth: ). I'm pretty sure Disney doesn't allow outside photographers in the parks.
