My first post everyone!! She just said "Yes" three days ago and wants a Disney wedding. :)

We're thinking of getting married at WDW in Sep/Oct 2007 area. At this point, we're not at the point where we want to contact Disney 'formally'.

I've been going through all of the available online 'stuff' about an Intimate Wedding, and I seem to be stuck on the cost of the cake and champagne. Anyone know the extra cost for this as we're going to have more than four guests?

We were planning on having four children (7 yrs, 5 yrs, 3 yrs and 18 mo.; all siblings, future niece and nephews) at the wedding. Do they count towards the number of guests in an Intimate Wedding?

We also noticed that there was a four night minimum resort stay. Is the cost of this included in the Intimate Wedding package?

Thanks in advance for any advice and help. At this point, I'm pretty sure that I'm not asking the correct questions, but I'd sure like to make her dream come true. :)

The cost of the hotel stay is not included in the intimate package price unfortunately. I'm not sure about the cost of additional champagne, I want to say I read somewhere $50 a bottle, but don't quote me. I would think the standard cake would be enough to feed the max. 18 guests plus you and your fiancee.
Some posts have said that children under 3 years don't count toward your minimum, some people say they have been told by their wedding coordinators that they do. Seems like it depends on which Disney person you talk to on which day.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the DISboards!

THere are several people who have had many questions answered here. It's very friendly and helpful. I tried to do a search to help find answers for you but the search function is not working right now.

Sending you Pixie Dust pixiedust: to find some answers.

I will do my best to help answer some of your questions. The website does say that the cake and champagne are for 4 guests, however that isn't quite correct.

The cake is large enough to feed all 20 guests (and you may have some left over). However, a bottle of champagne will be enough for 8 guests. You may have to purchase other bottles of champagne or sparkling cider. You may also purchase soda or orange juice for the little ones (which all count toward the guest count. I was told by my EM "if a little one breathes, they count..." you can take that how you want...)

Also, the room is no longer included in the price of the Intimate wedding. The wedding itself is an "add-on" to the room. So, you will have to make a reservation with WDW, then contact DFTW with your confirmation # to have your wedding booked. You can be "penciled in", but the date and time is not guaranteed until they have your reservation.

Hope this helps. There is an abundance of information on these boards. If you have any more questions, we will all do what we can to answer them...

And, by the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!! :wizard: Your wedding will be everything you both want it to be!!

Hi! According to my planner all 'bodies' count towards the 18 guest max.

An intimate cake is a standard two tiered white cake (you get to choose the flavors and fillings) , and like has been posted will feed 20-25 and have some left over. As an intimate you can customize your cake, so if the cake you choose is 8.00 a person then multiply that by 50 (the minimum for custom cakes or anything other than what comes in the package) and thats how much it costs. Hope that makes sense.

You can buy extra bottles of champagne it is 50.00 a bottle, or apple cider at 20.00 a bottle, or sodas by consumption and they are 3.50 a piece - they serve all coke products.

Also water is included with your cake cutting.

Unfortunately like has been said the room stay is no longer included but at least you can choose which ever resort you want to stay at! I got all the info from my planner and my contract, hope that helps!

Oh and congrats on your engagement!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the advice and information everybody. I was sure that I wasn't asking the correct questions, and your responses pretty well confirmed that idea.

I'm not really the Disney-nut of the pair, but her enthusiasm for WDW has worn off on me to the extent that I now know how to get to practically anywhere by bus without looking at a route map, and I can get to practically any restaurant on the property without needing directions. :)

The really odd part about it is that I was speechless when she said she wanted to get married there. Although, come to think of it, I'm not really convinced that it was that or the fact that she said 'Yes'.

That is so romantic. You sound such a lovely person.
Congratulations to you both.
Believe me when I say your day will be fantastic. Disney will make your wedding day so magical.

You have come to the right place for all your questions. Everybody is fantastic on here and will give you lots of advice.

Happy planning.

Congratulations on your engagement. An intimate wedding at Disney is wonderful, happy planning, you'll find lots of information here at the DIS. You are thinking of a great time of year to get married, September is value season and you should be able to get great rates for that time of year.

I just got engaged on Friday 12/22 and am hoping to have a WDW Intimate wedding in Sept. 2007.

Does anyone know what the cost of each additional guest is beyond the 4 guests that are included?

I am so excited to get everything planned!!!
Thanks for your help!
