2 questions about usnig DVC to trade out.
DVC allows 5 in a One bedroom if one of the children is under 3 years of age. If I was looking to book with 2 adults an 8 , 5 and a 2 year old would I be able to request a one bedroom or would I have to spring for the 2 Bedroom ( I do not feel ot would be worth the points then).

Also how far in advance can you make your request , or should you. We would be looking to travel in march of 2005.

The room type you'll need will depend on the occupancy of the resort you you're going to. Many are very strict about occupancy. MS should be able to find out from II what the status is for the resort you're interested in visiting.

Good Luck!

Many are very strict, others are not. All you can request is the occupancy of what you're giving up which is 4, 4 or 8. No credit for the child under 3. It helps to do research but I wouldn't rely on DVC to find out he info for you. Do your own research. Ask those of use who are members of II to look in the book or look on TUG. You can also go to the II site and as a non member sign in to a version of their Directory. That will list the private and total sleeping capacity. For DVC studios and 1 BR units it's 4/2 and for 2 BR units it's 8/6.

But, the exchange resort will still have it's own limits- regardless what size DVC unit was exchanged. If their occupancy is 4 maximum and strictly enforced, it won't matter that a 1BR at a DVC resort was exchanged.

Have MS check the limit for the II resort and check with other sources (tug2.net) for which resorts to request.

Absolutely. I'd personally call or email the resost if you could. It's not uncommon that the units sleep more than the trading capacity. Some will fine you or even throw you out if you're over at all.
