I know DVC members get free internet in their rooms. But, what if you are not staying on points? Can you still get the free internet, or is it only free when you are staying on points? Thanks!

Correct. Any reservation at a DVC resort through MS is treated the same. But if you reserved a non-DVC resort through MS, you will have to pay.

Sorry To Hijack the thread, but If I have two rooms on points and I am in one room and my friend in the other will my friend have to pay since I am not in the room.

Your friend should receive free internet. To be sure, I would check her room bill after the first use of the internet...and if there is a charge, you and your friend would need to go to the front desk, and show your membership card.

With the new reservation system, sometimes the room keys are not coded properly.
