Is there any place to use a computer at CBR or any place at WDW? We would like to be able to send emails home occasionally.

We took our laptop last visit, December 2007. We stayed at CBR. For $9.95 per 24 hours, you can have internet access. We didn't do it everyday, but it was nice to have the access.

1) All WDW resort have internet.
2) Yours will by via cable in the room.
3) Business & convention resorts have WiFi in public areas.
4) However, there is a charge for all internet at resorts.

we arer staying at CBR so I am assuming there is no public internet access? How do people print their boarding passes for the return trip home? I'm just not sure I want to bring my lap top.

This kinda annoys me, our "no-tell motel charge by the hour kind of place:eek: ) in our town has free wi-fi (at least thats what it says on the sign) but I have to pay when I go to Disney World?? I am in school right now (online classes) and I will be when we go in October, I dont intend on doing a lot of work down there but I would like to keep up as well..

The more expensive hotels like Marriott, Hilton, etc. charge for in room internet access.

I would not mind a one time charge for the the length of my stay. The last Hyatt I just stayed in had free in-room wifi and the last springhill suites (by mariott) had it as well. Maybe it is for more business oriented customers

As noted previously, the only Internet service available at most resorts is hard-line access for a daily fee. Printing is not available through this service. However, the front desk at your resort or a guest services location at the parks or DTD should do your check in and print out your boarding passes for you. Also, if you are flying on a participating airline you can check your bags and get boarding passes through the RAC service. See the Transportation board sticky on participating airlines for more details.

You can do a one time charge for length of stay, $9.95 * the number of days you are going to be there :). I have internet on my phone, and I hook it up to my laptop for 'free' internet, BUT it's not very fast as I dont get a super signal at CSR. I did the $10/24 hours a couple of days of my vacation so I could upload lots of my pics to my website so family and friends could see them 'live'

This is not an answer to your question (you have already received that) but is kinda sorta related. At Epcot, you can send pictures via email. Just go to the Imagination pavilion and the Innovation pavilion.

Just take your picture and you can add funny noses, lips, hats, etc.

We always send emails to our friends and family. Super super cute.

It's not the quickest, but it does work. I think my sister got our Epcot pics like 2 days later :D

I was just amazed how LONG it did take. I talked to her that night after we did the picture (like 12 hours before) and was shocked when she didnt have it yet. Just kind of wrote it off, then a couple of days later she tells me she got it.. I had forgotten all about it..
lol

We were thinking of taking our laptop on our upcoming trip but now I don't know. I would like to keep a check on the weather and email and such so that there isn't so much of it to go through when we get home. Everywhere we have went over the last 2 years or so has had free wifi. It is disappointing that Disney of all places don't offer free wifi when even the smallest of hotels and places now offer it now. I love Disney but I think they have really dropped the ball on this one. Charging 9.99 per 24 hours is really bad.
Disney if you are listening out there....GET WITH THE TIMES - WE WANT FREE WIFI!

As SaftyMom stated, most, if not all, of your higher end Hotels charge for internet access. I recently paid 24 Euro/$24 hours in Barcelona.
I agree that most of the lower level motels are offering it for free. :confused3 It is a bit of an oxymoron, isn't it.

I have stayed at a few high end hotels in the US and they have had free wifi. Even the coffee shops and entire downtown cities offer it. :confused3 Just don't get it with Disney.

Disney doesnt offer free internet because... 1) they want the extra bucks. and 2) they dont want you surfing the i-net, they want you in the parks spending money!!

I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park and they had free internet access. I can't believe it is that expensive to offer free wi-fi to customers. All of the Choice Hotel brands (Econo Lodge, Comfort Inn, etc) provide it and it is very useful to business and leisure customers.

With respect to the person who asked about printing boarding passes, you can check in on line and not bother printing your boarding pass if you have a web enabled cell or other wireless handheld. Just print your boarding pass at the airport using a kiosk. Also, the guest relations people at the resorts and at the parks will allow you to print your boarding passes if that is your preference.

Ok, say it with me... The cost has VERY VERY little if anything to do with it.

And sure they could offer free wired i-net in the rooms, but again, they dont have to. They have a monopoly on ON PROPERTY stuff. And I'm sure there are LOTS of people that pay the $10/day. I know I did a couple or 3 days of my vaca last december.

I doubt you will see very much wi-fi at WDW as they want you looking around at stuff, and ooohhhing and aaaahhhing at stuff.. At wanting to buy it!
