 I now have Norton Internet Security and it is time for renewal. I was notified by Norton that they now have a new product called "360". Does anyone know if I need both products or can I cancel my current software and replace with 360? I tried reading the product descriptions, but when you are as computer challenged as I am, it doesn't help. Help!!!! :confused3

I think Norton slows a computer down greatly.

But with that being said the 360° it looks like it will cover everything

here;s from their details page

Thanks very much for the info. I agree that Norton really slows the computer down but I have read negative reviews about McAfee also & these are the only 2 programs I have any (albeit limited) knowledge of. I'm open for suggestions. Thanks again.

The newest versions (2007) are supposed to use less resources than previous versions. I have norton running on several PCs and I really don't see a slow down when they are activated or deactivated.

McAfee is worse than Norton, IMHO. I switched to Windows Live OneCare on my desktop, and am going to switch to it on my laptop as well. It does the job very well, is well-integrated, and seems to be much less resource-hungry than either Norton or McAfee was.

Thank you bicker and Charade for the input. Think I'll switch to OneCare. I knew I could count on the Dis community for help.

DO NOT LOAD NORTON 360! I did on Saturday and now my 14 month old computer is very sick and with the computer guy for attention. He and I both believe it is Norton. Now, I'm out the $60 for the upgrade as well as the cost for the repair. I don't know what I'll do for security, but it surely won't be the 360.

Norton usually has a 60 day money back guarantee. Check the paperwork that came with it.

I would recommend a product called NOD32. It is a little more advanced than the others, but it has a really small system footprint and the definitions are updated constantly.

If you are uncomfortable with the complexity of NOD32, I would cast another vote for OneCare.

Thanks Charade, I'll do that. It is so frustrating. I thought I was doing the right thing by upgrading to the best they had to offer. :confused3 That's a mistake I won't make again.
