Internet at HH?

Did anyone use their laptops on recent trips to Hilton Head? Just trying to plan ahead and hoping we can stay connected. Thanks!

We were there July 27th thru August 1st and i was able to connect to the wireless internet in my room the whole trip.....so you should be able to stay connected!

Thanks! Did you set something up with the front desk, or do you think you were just picking up a "signal" from somewhere. Probably not the right lingo, I know, but in WDW, we have to pay $9.99 and also we take a travel router in order to use our laptops. So I guess that's what I am asking, did you have to do anything or was it just "there". Thanks so much!

I was there over 4th of July. There is no high speed in the rooms, though if you are close enough to the main lobby, you can sometimes get a signal in your room. The cost is free, but for most people, you have to go to the pool or main lobby. The connection was very unreliable the entire we were there.

I must agree... we were there in June and found wireless only near the lobby and only near the main pool.... I never had a weak signal as long as I was in one of these areas...

No signals in the room (lodge)... I do wish Disney would fix this....

Hi, I just spoke with Richard at the front desk. He said that they basically had what they call 3 "hot spots".
Big Murgies Den
The Pool Deck
The Beach House
In those spots if you have a wi fi card you can get a connection by "agreeing to the terms" which are free.
Not great, but at least a connection.

We just got back and the previous post is correct. Hot spots are Muggies Den, Main Pool, and Beach House. I did try wireless from my room (3012) and was not able to connect. Did connect at main pool, but signal was not super strong. Didn't try at beach house..afterall it was vacation!

We were in Building 24 on the top floor...we were pretty close to the pool but I was able to pick up wireless from our room the whole time with no problem..I left my laptop on the whole week. So maybe since we were so close to the pool I got lucky. All I had to do when I signed on was accept disney's terms and agreements when I opened internet explorer and I was set for the trip!

Wow! That would be my ideal building! Marsh view, internet, close to the pool!
We are going during a slow time, maybe we will be able to get our wish!

We were there two weeks ago and were also able to connect from our room or more like balcony. We were in room 1221 and getting a signal from Big Murgie's Den.
