Internet anyone?

If I take my lap top to Trails End or to the check-in, can I use WI-FI? Per my AT&T, I can use my WI-FI free nationwide because I have AT&T DSL. Per AT&T I just log in using my AT&T account log-in/password.

The AT&T deal is only in commercial locations nationwide (Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, and McDonald's being the most notable) that offer WI-FI through AT&T. There is no AT&T access at the Fort but according to the AT&T website there is service at the Swan and Dolphin Resorts and at the Palace Resort over by Downtown Disney. (They are independently operated and technically not Disney-(owned) hotels). Here is a link with some information (hope it comes through)-look for them in the list of access points:

There also appears to be some locations out on Highway 192. Let us know if this works. I've never tried it but have looked at it. Good luck! :surfweb:

i did see a woman using her laptop at the meadows a couple weeks ago, so it is definitely there too. it still boggles my mind that disney charges 9.95 a day for WIRED access when i can get free wireless at a Super 8!

Me too. Our business travelers find that the most expensive exclusive hotels they use CHARGE for WiFi and yet we see Super 8 and others give it to you for free. I'll never understand, especially since it doesn't cost them anything more to offer wireless off that connection.

Thanks. That really helps! At least I know where to go now to use my laptop.

Has anyone run into clear instructions on how to add wi-fi to your Disney cable supplied internet connection at FW? It sounded as simple as plugging the Disney supplied cable modem into your own WiFi router (before you sign up for the service), starting your PC, and signing up for your $10/day access. I've read that MAC cloning might or might not be required (my router supports it). Are there any tricks to be aware of?

I'm actually using the Disney internet service right now. Had to get the router from the check-in area, since I thought that the sites had wireless connections. It works pretty well, but does kick me off every now and then. It lets me right back on, so I'm guessing that the connection is just dropping now and then. I cannot stand paying $9.95 for a 24 hour period, especially since we had free WiFi at a KOA and a county campground on the way here. If you decide to use the $9.95 service, then be sure to keep track of when your 24 hour period starts and stops (to make sure you maximize your usage and to make sure you don't get billed for time you don't use).

just some info on wifi.
It doesn't work in all loop, they are still testing, some of the other loops.
talked with a fellow camper and hey couldn't get online with disney setup.
He wasn't charged for the fee when he returned it.

Every time it asks for your KTTW number, you are starting a new 24 hr. period, otherwise it takes you straight to the internet once you log on to your computer. if KOAs can provide it, i don't see why disney can't provide it for FREE AND WIRELESS. Also, check your bill at the end of your stay and make sure the credit of $125 is on there. It's strange the way they show it as +$125 and then at checkout it shows +125 and then -125. makes me feel like it never was taken off. Ask if you're not sure.

I am a member of a brand specific camping club (Airstream only) that has their own camp grounds. The monthly news letter that announced that they were adding free Wi-Fi stated that the monthly cost for the service was $70/month for ALL the camp ground. Seems like Disney could put one of these antenna in each of the premier loops for that cost. At +-$95/night for each of the premier sites they could afford it.

check with the companies you work for. when we hooked up to verizon we got a discount on the monthly fee and hook up & the card was free through my company. we checked out both places we work for and mine was the better deal.

:goodluck

We haven't been charged extra fees when we had to reenter the code when it has kicked us off Disney's service, but I am still keeping track of when we are using the service. I checked our bill after the first week to make sure. I think it would be very easy for a billing error.

it sucks that they don't have wifi.... c;'mon disney, get with the 90's

they even have it at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
