Internet access at FW

Hoping for an answer about internet access. DH has to bring his laptop from work to keep on things. In the past, he has gone up to the check-in building and hooked up, but we're wondering if that is still the only location. Have they done any modifications at FW in the last year or so that have internet access either in certain loops or at designated areas? We are currently booked for the pet loops, but if the preferred sites have internet access, I think there are a couple that allow pets. Does anyone know for sure or should I just call the front desk at the Fort?

Yes High speed (cable internet) is available at the preferred loops. It is $9.95 a day. You pickup a cable modem when you check in and you plug it in at your site. This is the only internet access that I know of for the camping sites. You of course will need a network jack in your laptop.

Thanks! That is exactly the information I was looking for. I think someone on a different post said that preferred sites now include a pet loop in 800. I'll call FW just to make sure, but it sounds like the best place for us.

As someone mentioned yes high speed is now available. There's even a little sticker on the cable post telling you about it. But, I never bring my laptop with me to Disney. Even so I still have to check in at work each day. What I do is get up pretty early and take the boat over to the Contemporary. They have a business center with computers that have internet access. The business center is in the convention hall area. They are supposed to charge $10 per 15 minutes usuage but I have never been charged. Last week I was there at least once per day sometimes twice per day checking in. I would just pop over while my wife and kids were headed to MK and would meet up with them a little later or I would stop over at lunch or at the end of the day. Over the week I was probably there for a cumulative time of 2 to 3 hours and was not charged a dime. Just be friendly to the person working the desk and don't over stay your welcome any one time and your fine.
