Can someone please clarify the International Gateway? Is it just a "walkway" between the Boardwalk and the back of EPCOT or are there restaurants and shops along the way?

Would you recommend visiting this area or sticking to the restaurants in EPCOT?

Thanks for your help.

The Int'l gateway is a walkway to the Boardwalk and the Yacht/Beach Club. You'll find it on the right just before the little bridge to France (after the UK). Once you're out of the Epcot gate, there is also a water taxi that can take you to the BW. The walk is maybe a 1/2 mile - or less to the BW. There are restaurants there, but personally, I prefer eating in Epcot. If you want to know what the restaurants are, you can look up the resorts for that info.

You walk out of the gate, turn left and in about 3 minutes you're on the Boardwalk. I prefer the restaurants in World Showcase, but I have been dying to try Spoodles and Flying Fish. Both have gotten rave reviews. ESPN is fun but the food is standard bar fare. I do think they have some sort of arcade in there.

The Boardwalk is a very fun atmosphere with a neat general store and lots of carnival attractions. It's also a great place to grab a cheap hot dog and some ice cream. It would be worth it to stop by after the parks close or on your way between Epcot and MGM.
