International Gateway

Can someone tell me more about the Gateway? I'm wondering where it is, how long it takes to walk from Epcot to the Boardwalk area. I can't seem to find a lot of info on this subject. Thanks!

It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from Boardwalk to International Gateway. You enter the World Showcase between England and France.

The International Gateway is EXTREMELY convenient to the Boardwalk and EPCOT Resorts! Our family has used it often, as we are DVC owners and stay at the Beach Club Villas (we have also stayed at the Yacht Club), and I have never seen it crowded! It is a 5 minute walk from the Beach Club, if you are staying at the Yacht, Boardwalk or Swan/Dolphin you can also take a boat.

We love to take the ferry from MGM to Epcot. It drop you off at the International Gateway. It was great for catching Illuminations, we didn't have to walk through future world.

LOVE to enter EPCOT through the gateway. so serene.

If you need a stroller or w/c and maybe the ecv you can rent it right there. Also if you time it right and head straight to england you can catch pooh and the gang etc. Its usually non crowded. The cms really take the time to talk to you etc.

Here is a link to a map of the YC/BC/BCV. Look at the right side you can see the walkway to Epcot. That takes you to the gateway. It really is a 5 min. walk from there, 10min. from BW, about 15min. from Swan/Dolphin. You can take the ferry from any of those resorts, or just walk. When you enter there is a gift shop and they have the stroller/wheelchair rentals there.
On our last trip we watched the 7pm show of Fantasmic at MGM, then walked back to our resort, the BW, got icecream at the icecream shop there, then continued walking to Epcot and made it to the 9pm show of Illuminations, with time to spare!! We even had our 8mo, and 5yo with us!!!
