Interesting thought, regarding scrapping.

I was talking to my Mom the other day about my struggles to finish up my Project 365 book and my plan to do a different sort of book for this year (sort of like the Project 12 book someone posted about in early January).

My Mom made the comment (about the P365 book) that at least I had finally done a book for myself. While I had NEVER thought of it that way, she was correct.

The scrapping I do on a daily basis is for my kids (I keep consecutive, chronological annual books for them, plus other books for things like big trips).

I have done gift albums for my Dad (ongoing gardening books), two of my sisters-in-law (50th birthday books), my three nephews (memorial books about a special aunt they lost), thank you album (for DSIL and her husband who host us CONSTANTLY at their different vacation homes and treat my kids like their own), "your life" album for my Mom (60th birthday gift), small birthday album for DH (about the kids).... but I have NEVER done a book specifically for myself!!! And I suppose that is what my P365 book is.... I don't have two of them, so I don't have one for each kid. No one else in the family would ever really be interested in it.... so it is for ME!!!!

Do you scrap for yourself? If you did P365, who were you doing it for?? .......P

what is P365? (like i need another project....)

i do Disney vacation books, we all enjoy them, youngest DD looks through them often, but they are staying with ME! other than that...i don't think i do...hmmmm

Molli,
Project 365 is an idea that Becky Higgins came up with. Instead of having big gaps in photos between events she changed her scrapping style to be one photo from every day. Wether you're at Disney or the Grocery store. Like a snapshot in time over the course of a year. We all did different versions, some digital, others 12 x 12, I did a CM album where the pics just slide into 4x6 spaces and did some journalling.
It was a fun album but not a lot of people finished. Some times they felt that the pictures were the same every day, others were just to busy. I took pics when I could, the week of DD's 3rd birthday I had one picture of her with her cake so I added a photo from every birthday. Other days I did several pictures of the kids from one day, like at Track meets.

Pamela,
I view the 365 album as mine as well. I don't have duplicates for the kids only because there are 4 of them and it would take forever. I just switched over to chronological (only did Disney albums before that) and I do feel good about the fact that if I don't get a traditional paper album done for 2009, this one is done. And could easily be replicated for all the kids.

The only albums I have that are "mine" are the trips I take to SDV with mom and my circle journals.

Good for you for doing an album on you. Your children are going to cherish it in years to come.

I have never done an album on me, heck I am rarely in any pictures because I am the photographer. Recently I did a 20th anniversary album for my DH. I had a heck of a time getting enough pictures of DH and I together.

Guess my goal for 2010 should be taking more pictures of me with the family.
