Interesting thing happened on MIB

On my about 15th time on MIB on my trip this year, the console that counts the score managed to fly off as the car spun.

Of course, I was still holding the gun, and the computer part started flying around the car still held by the wire, smashing into the side (and my leg!). I pulled it up and held it for the duration of the ride.

When I got off, the guy working there was so shocked - his eyes popped out as I handed him the "box" (or whatever it is). They gave us a free ride together (despite being in the single rider line) and I broke my record, despite the bruise on my leg. (542000!).

We went to ride Spiderman as the park was closing, to find that the ride was running without any projection. That was rather curious as well.

Has anyone else been the victim of things falling apart, and actually finding it interesting?

since i kind of enjoy MIB i had not shared this prevoiusly. While riding in the back seat of the ADA car i picked up the noisy cricket gun and felt some thing go into the ring finger of my right hand. i transfered the gun to my left hand and felt something cut the index finger of my left hand. the little notch below the trigger guard had been hit and the chrome surface was cracked and pushed up like a piece of glass. i went to restroom and put water on both and held a paper towel in each hand to catch the blood.
finally when it would not stop hurting i went to first aid for some neosporin and a couple of bandaids. of course since i was a wounded vetern i had to have lunch at mythos. ;)

Hi KaneS

Twice while on Spiderman last week during the "falling" sequence my scoop did not move during the projection. After the projection, the screen went blank and then the scoop went through the motions to the blank screen. I guess I rode the ride about 7 times. It's still a great ride even when one sequence isn't working properly! :)

You have to ride Spiderman several times to get the full effect. One time we rode it, there was no sound during parts of it. Another time, action didn't match the screen (ie. pipe from Hydroman hit the car, it took a few seconds for the car to start spinning). When everything worked at once, it was a great ride. I just feel sorry for people that are disappointed after riding it once, esp. if they don't realize that something is missing.

That generally occurs in the ride when there is a backup at unload. The cars backup, but once the scene triggers are set, the scene and projection must play out. It takes a couple of runs through at normal speed to re-sync.

On Spiderman thursday, our car was stopped for a bit and the screens continued on before we got there..which made for a not so good ride, it did not make much sense in moments then...we got to ride it two more times though and it worked fine after that.

Hello there - never had a problem with the MIB ride. But was interested to read about the Spiderman ride. We were at the HRH two weeks ago, and my 5yo son decided that he'd like to do the Spiderman ride towards the end of our holiday. He was apprehensive, because he is quite afraid of the dark (although he enjoys the MIB ride). With the EXPRESS entry we bypassed the 50minute waiting line & went straight on. Unfortunately, none of the projections & very little sound was working - so my son had a very frightening, shaking ride in the dark. He was understandably upset and it spoilt the whole ride and put him off trying the ride again. "Spiderman" though happened to see us sitting on a bench comforting him & took time to talk to him, take a picture & later on when we collected the photo & he signed it for him aswell.....so there was a happy ending, sort of!
We felt very sorry for all the people waiting in line for this ride for so long and it does seem that the ride is very tempermental. I wonder how many times it doesn't work properly in an hour?
P.S. We have all been very shocked by all that has happened in NYC. Visited the WTC a few years ago & were planning on going with the kids next year! If anyone reading this has friends or relatives missing since Tuesday, our thoughts & prayers are with you.
