Listenin to Diane Rehm Show on NPR today there was an agenda laid out.
Obama's exective order was all he can do as far as the executive branch goes...Now everything else is thrown to the congress for apporval.
THe Hate Crimes bill is waiting appoval in Sneate...They have 63 votes and they only need 60. This should get signd into law if congress stops dragging their feet on it.
ANti Discrimination laws for GLBT in the work place is on the table. There are stll mant states that hav eno anti discrimination las for GLBT.
Dont' ask Don't tell...Gays in the Military...Even though it seems that this is trending towards equality it is still a hot button issue.
Defensive Marriage act repealed...As I understand the Defensive Marriage act it makes it so that if a same sex couple is married in a state that allows same sex marriage they have to stay in that state for their marriage to be legal....Repealing the act could make same sex marriages to be reconized in other states.
I am a news and political junkie.
