We are at WDW this week and it's been great.
We were looking for a place to eat Sunday night earlier than our 8:15 Ohana reservation. There was not a single reservation in all of WDW to be had. I called T Rex to see if they had any openings and they had no 'reservations' but she informed me that they keep 70% of their restaurant open for walk ups!!! Wow! We took a taxi to Downtown Disney and at 6:45 there was only a 10 minute wait. Food, service and atmosphere were awesome!
Tonight, we had cancelled our ADR. We walked over the the main building (we're staying at poly) and inquired at Ohana if they were taking walk ups. She said they would accept walk ups only for Polynesian guests if you could confirm you are staying here with a valid room key. Unfortunately for us, it was a 2 hour wait...longer than we were willing to wait with the kids, but it was great for some other happy guests.
It's nice to know they have some walk ups reserved for guests of the resort. Many people don't know you need to make reservations. I'm not sure if Ohana does that all the time or not, but they were definitely doing it tonight.
