Interesting FP occurrence at MK...

Last night at MK we entered park at 8:45 after HDDR ,had booked our 4th FP earlier in day while at Epcot. Decided to skip fireworks to do HM as it had no wait. Caught end of fireworks after then headed to PoC for FP. It was temp closed so I asked CM " are you doing any thing for FP? " she said quietly you can go to any ride except 7DMT and PP. So we zipped to BTM and our magic bands did not turn green, we explained to this CM what happened so she over ride the scan and they all turned green. After BTM we went back to PoC which was now open, MDX showed that FP as still being active so we scanned and all turned green! It was strange they weren't telling everyone else they could do that but good for us. So always ask!

This is common practice. If you checked your email or mde you would've saw an anytime FP on there. It's good for nearly any ride (it shows a list on the app of what you can use it on which will be the same for everyone). What you can use it on varies by which ride went down and what time of day it is when it goes down. For anyone without access to their phone, if your ride is down you can always ask that rides CM's and they'll let you know what rides you can head to instead.

But it sounds like it being down briefly didn't upload to the site, not giving you an anytime FP. Which would be why the FP for HM didn't work, or for whatever reason HM wasn't included in the list of rides to use it on. The HM CM overrode it thus not using any FP. So you still had a FP for Pirates to use.
