Here's what we have booked...

(2) 2BR's at OKW for a Saturday night, paid with cash through MS....

...then (2) 2BR's for Sun-Thu night, using points....

...then (2) 2BR's for Friday night, paid with cash through MS...

We are a group of 15 (2 grandparents, 3 adult children and their spouses, and all of the grandkids, ranging in age from 7 months to 10 years). When we booked, we'd initially segmented off the Sunday night on points in order to add a dining plan to just that night. After that option went away, I called MS back to see about simplifying the reservation. I reiterated that we want this to be treated as ONE reservation because we do not want to have to worry about checking in and out, or worse, MOVING:scared1:, with 15 people.

So, this is what the CM did...

Our 2 nights on cash (first night and last night) have one confirmation number. Then, ONE of the 2BR's has a different number for the 5 nights on points and then we have a third number for the other 2BR points stay. I was told that they are all listed as "traveling together" so our party should not be split up.

Now, when I look at our vacation plan on the new website (under "vacation center"), everything looks in order, but one thing stuck out at me... it gives me the option to add a dining plan to the POINTS nights of our stay:confused3. There is no option for the cash nights, but it will allow me to add a DP to the 5 nights in the middle. Can anyone explain this? We don't want a 5-night DP, but I'm curious as to why this is an option if the reservation is being treated as a 7-night stay.

You'll need to get a definitive answer from MS. but it looks like they are only allowing the DP on reservations made using points. I don't know if that's a new policy or has always been that way.

I'd cal MS to see what the current policy is at this time.

Sounds like a great family trip. We're doing something similar this summer with 10 including 5 grandchildren.

Enjoy! :)

The software coding must only see the point reservation and not the cash.

As far as not having to move, the Front Desk makes that decision so make sure that you discuss it with them when you check in.

Thanks!

I will probably call the resort directly a few days beforehand, just to make sure that all the ducks are in a row.
