Interesting Article on Southwest Airlines

Hello from Alburtis! Thanks for the link, it was an interesting article!

Hi from Upper Macungie. My DFiL was born in Alburtis, right along the train tracks!

As much as I thought I would hate the "cattle call" on Southwest, I have come to love it. Especially since it means that an entire flight of 120+ passengers, including preboards, can board and be buckled in 20 minutes. I don't need to have a seat in the front of the plane. As far as I can tell, the back of plane lands not much after the front of the plane. :lmao:
I, for one, hope they don't go to assigned seats. I like picking my seat and have never had a problem seating my party together.

Nice artical but what it also fails to mention is CEO Gary Kelly only took a compensation package worth $976,021.This was after it's 34th straight year of profit.
This was from a Baltimore Sun artical today.

I'm sure the CEOs of the other airlines are rakeing in millions .

I have flown SWA, mainly from Detroit to Midway and to be honest I have always felt even with the "no assigned seats" they get people on the planes much quicker than the other airlines. Since they now have a couple of N/S flights from DTW to MCO. I would give them a try though I hate the old terminal in DTW where every other than NWA or overseas flights go out. Maybe next year when they open that new terminal.

Hi everyone from PA......NE corner here. I definitely agree with pamjb.....I also hope SW doesn't ever go to assigned seating. I love to choose my own seat. As a matter of fact, when DH and I are traveling alone (without our three adult kids and our 5 yr old grandson) we purposely head toward the back of the plane. It seems most families with smaller children grab the first seats they can which are together and it usually tends to be mid plane and forward. Therefore, we've found the rear of the plane has mostly adults....at least on the majority of flights from PHL/MCO and MCO/PHL. We just love everything about SW. The FA's are the friendliest in the industry, along with gate agents.....they all seem to really enjoy their job. The planes are in good shape. Their customer service is the best. And, their prices can't be beat. I have a beautiful brand new airport practically in my backyard, but, the only airlines that fly from there are two of the legacy carriers (both with reputations for the WORST service) so my family chooses to make the two hour drive to PHL (probably one of the country's most depressing airports) to fly SW and we will continue to do so unless (please, please) SW makes a business decision to start flying from a closer airport
