:mad:Just found out that we can't "insure" our Developer Points through TravelGuard..They told me if the Developer Points are "separately" stated on a Disney Invoice, as they are at the Grand Californian Hotel, you cannot insure them...That really stinks...You should minimally be able to insure them for $5 per point as you can do with "regular" points...At least that would be "something" if you wind up coming up with unforseen illness and can't rebook the trip by the time the timeframe is up...I guess you can hurriedly try to rent them, but in my case I am planning on traveling mid August and I believe my development points expire by Sept. 1st..

Anyone else have any experience trying to insure Developer Points?

Thanks!:

See if you can insure the travel costs of the trip, like airfare, on a different type of policy. As far as developers points, they are likely considered a free promotional type stay by the insurers. Since the Dev. Points aren't owned by you, and they were in essence simply made available for your use without a charge or fee, you theoretically would have no financial loss to actually insure for the points themselves.
