We're going on our cruise in November. It is my family of 7 along with my mother and father. I'm taking out travel insurance. One of my kids is booked in the cabin with my parents and I reserved the entire trip. Should I have my parents take out their own policy on their portion of the trip or can I cover the entire trip under one policy?
 
You'd be best to talk to the Travel Insurance Company about your specific situation to understand what is best. I know in my case, even though my mom and I share a cabin, because we live in two different states we have to have individual policies. I still purchase the insurance for both of us. But I have to book her policy separate from my policy.
 
As PPs have suggested, check around for prices and options. One thing to look at is whether DCL's insurance may be less expensive for your parents. While DCL charges the same rate per person (8% of the fare, I think) regardless, age will be a factor in the cost if you look to buy a policy from someone else. Third party insurers also frequently provide coverage for children at no cost when you purchase coverage for an adult whereas DCL's insurance has you pay for everyone. When we cruised with my parents a few years ago it was cheaper for them to buy the DCL insurance but it was much cheaper for us to buy insurance from a third-party provider, so we
