If it's Travel Guard, I wouldn't get too excited.
As a Canadian teacher, I have premium health insurance, but inquired about the Travel Guard insurance a few years back, as we had a cruise planned (using points), but our baby was in hospital with pneumonia, so I was looking for cancellation/interruption based on medical reasons. We have this with our Gold VISA, but since paying with points, it wasn't valid.
Basically, there were so many exclusions and pre-existing conditions clauses, that we didn't purchase. It really didn't cover much at all. We cancelled and lost some points, and our $95.00 fee, but it was appropriate as our babe was very ill in hospital, so we rescheduled trip a few months later to just WDW. That
trip insurance would have cost more than $95.00, and it wouldn't have covered anything, as our son has a history of asthma, so that is pre-existing with bronchitis/pneumonia, and that would have denied any claim we would have made.
Looking forward to hearing more about it, but at $79.00/year, that sounds way too good to be true!
