Instruct Me in All Things Ebates

Just signed up for the site. As a kind of test run, ordered a gift card from the Disney Shop. Also noticed they have an in-store deal for Petco (which I had planned to shop at this weekend). So, I linked my card and claimed that offer.

So, now what? Do I just sit back and let the savings come in?

Is the best thing to do before shopping online to just stop at Ebates first? Feel free to assume I know nothing.

Ebates is awesome! Just make sure you always go to the ebates site first and let it direct you to the stores website. That's how it tracks.

Quarterly you'll get money back. Mine is linked to my PayPal so I get an automatic deposit.

Soooooo, apparently Ebates is all about not linking (or quoting links) to referrals on the DIS. Got it!

• You cannot have any other shopping extensions (like Swagbucks) active on your browser. It can interfere with getting credit from eBates.
• Ad blocker extension can prevent shopping trips from crediting.
  
• Items added to your cart prior to shopping thru eBates may not qualify.
• In most case, gift card purchases do not qualify for eBates. Your Disney GC purchase will not credit.
  
• Use of a coupon which is not from eBates can disqualify your shopping trip.
• Save your confirmation emails from the merchants in case your rebate doesn't credit.
• Big Fat checks (or PayPal payments) are quarterly, the next check should be next month if you meet the minimum balance by the end of this month. If you don't, then the balance carries over to the next quarter.

When I click Shopping Trips, I see the shopDisney purchases listed. I'm guessing once everything runs through they'll see it's a GC purchase and Cash Back will show $0? The Cash Back part is just blank right now. How quickly do things credit generally? If I buy something at Petco Saturday with the linked in-store deal, when should I expect to see a balance on Ebates?

I have ebates installed on my browser so that I don't have to remember to go to the Ebates site to shop. Whenever I'm on a website that Ebates will give $$ for, a little box pops up and I can choose to activate Ebates or to activate later. I do alot of shopping on Amazon and wish Ebates wasn't soo picky with what they'll give money for on that site. Honestly, I use ebates the most when I buy my kids clothes from The Children's Place. Although, Swagbucks will give me the same percentage back and I'm seriously considering going through Swagbucks for those particular shopping sprees to add to my Swagbucks points.

As for you GC purchase, just watch it and if it stays, that'll be a pleasant surprise.

YMMV on the purchase of disney gift cards through disney store online. i received ebates credit earlier this month for a $50 gift card that i purchased online.

I have gotten swagbucks for a gc purchase through Disney. I didn't realize the gift card site has you check out through disneystore.com and that an was activated. Happy accident.

I got my Dsis using ebates last week for their 12% deals..... she went thru the portal after signing up, and said she didn't get the credit on her acct! Ack! I advised her to put in a support ticket looking for it.... I have never had any issues with ebates not crediting

I have an Ebates account and my biggest problem is remembering to go through them. I shop at Amazon at least twice a month but just can't seem to remember. I don't use the icon on my toolbar since my honey is a computer consultant and adding pop ups to my computer gets me fussed at.

I love Ebates and have been using it for a long time. It works great for black friday as well. That is even more fun. Some times more money back, no driving , or fighting crowds. I love the pop up to use when looking at things to activate if I decide to purchase. And it costs nothing. Nice check to put away for anything. Enjoy it.
