Instead of this, that - Disney Parks Edition

Instead of hitting all your "must do" restaurants, commit to only eating at places you've never been.

We did this a couple of years ago and found it made Disney refreshingly new!

We are doing that for this trip. :)

I love Flights of Wonder. The last time we saw the show, one of the birds didn't cooperate at all. It was really funny. I'm going down with my mom and 4-year-old in a week. My mom doesn't like coasters and my little one is too short for most of them. So this trip will be more about exploring places like Tom Sawyer's Island, which we haven't done in ages. My mom and youngest never complain about the tree house, either.

If you stay at or visit the AKL and have kids, do some of the bead activities, or take a tour of the resort. I think they still offer tours of Sanaa and the cultural artifacts. I want to do that someday.

Thanks, that all sounds like fun! It's funny, but we haven't ever done Tom Sawyer Island in all of our trips. We will the next time.:)

We did this a few years ago and it was great! We found a couple new favorites, tried places we never thought of before. And got my "creatures of habit" to try some new places.

Instead of waiting in the long line so you can fully design your own car on Test Track (a must do for my guys!), go around through the gift shop first. There are kiosks near the exit where you can design your cars and load them on your magic bands. Then use the single rider line! The fully designed cars will still be on your bands. Convenience of skipping the long lines and you don't miss the fun of designing your car.

Oh, and another alternative to the mad rush after the fireworks? Sneak out just before the finale! If you time it so you watch the finale from the turnstile/bag check area, you can be at the bus stop and pulling away on a nearly empty bus before the masses empty the park! Did this at both MK and DHS last year and it was perfect. Yes, maybe missed seeing the last few fireworks from inside the park, but the tradeoff was totally worth it.

Not a bad idea for a thread!

I've never liked all the oil company propaganda on Ellen's Energy Adventure. Instead of going there, I'd get in touch with my Mother Earth side on the Pagani and Discovery Island trails in AK. Discovering so many animals is a much better use of my time than learning about 15-year-old energy innovations that were poised to save us from an impending energy crisis but never really panned out.

Instead of complaining about the mid-day heat, get a soda at Pinocchio Village Haus and wave to people heading out on Small World.

this was one of my favorite moments. My kids were little and sat at those tables and waved at people. There were two CM from Pinocchio or maybe Small World. They had signs my kids got to hold and flash the crowds below. One CM also had Down Syndrome.. she was so happy waving.. Actually the perfect job for her I think!

Instead of rushing out of the MK after Fireworks hang around until after the park closes and wait (and wait) in front of the castle for Walt's kiss goodnight.
