Instagram symbol question

OK, "techier" DISers than me - does anybody know what this symbol:

is for on Instagram?

I just noticed it today, when scrolling through reels. It sits right below the comment icon (speech bubble) and right above the send icon (paper airplane).

This is a new "repost" feature! When you tap it, it will amplify the post by re-surfacing it on your timeline so your followers will see it, too. Kind of like how you would "share" a post on Facebook or "retweet" a tweet on Twitter. Haven't used it yet but it looks like your reposted reels/posts will appear on a separate tab in your profile like TikTok reposts do.

I also noticed that new button. I was wondering what it was. Considering my focus on Instagram is boy bands, that will come in handy.
