Instacart identification

Hi
We are traveling from Ireland and want to use Instacart for a few groceries
We want to buy a couple of beers

The app doesn't say it will accept an Irish passport for identification for the beer only US passports

I asked in their chat and they said this to be the case

But have people experience of this

Ive always found Americans to be obsessed with ID. I was once asked for ID when buying boxer shorts in Bloomingdales.

I suspect a country issued ID will be ok.
