Inspired... Not washing blankets at resorts??

I always pull the comforter off (at all hotels) and request that the bed never be made. Every time the bed is made and I complain. I also never use the coffee makers in the room. God only knows what people do with them. All I know is that when I get home I immediately take a very long shower and then wash all my clothes. I also spray lysol on my luggage before putting it away. And then don't get me started when you go to the restroom at a water park (I need to buy shoes). I always wonder what I'm stepping in. And I have had some towels that have had some peculiar stains on them.

I just wanted to clarify. I've never stayed in a deluxe (except as a child) onlly Values & Mods. Those beds have a bedspread and then a "Vellux" blanket. Is that what you all mean by comforter?

I have a feeling I'd notice an "unruly" odor (how can an odor be unruly?) well before the middle of the night. But no, I wouldn't understand hysterics even then. I'm well aware Disney doesn't hermetically seal blankets in anticipation of my arrival.

Would I expect the problem to be resolved? You betcha. Will I whip out the Clorox wipes and disinfect the room from top to bottom? Uh, no.

I can completely understand wiping down the room with clorox wipes...I plan on doing it on our next trip. I find the whole bedding thing nasty, however I HATE confrontation and don't see myself asking them to change our bedding unless I saw a problem. I have 4 little ones and up until this past week they have NEVER gotten very sick. But about a week before they started to all get sick I let them play in the McDonalds playground one day, there were a TON of other kids there and low and behold some of them had snotty noses. My kids aren't in daycare or school or the nursery at church and I try and leave them home with DH to go shopping, so I know this was the place they got exposed. While I am not afraid of germs this has set us back a lot. 4 kids under 5 sick at the same time with cough, cold, fever and now 2 of them have ear infections, their first ever. All four have had to go to the dr. and that's co-pays and perscriptions. My DH got very sick and had to go to the Dr. also and had very expensive perscriptions and he missed 3 days of work(unpaid), and I have been battling a cold for 2 weeks now. Needless to say I don't think I'll let them play there again during cold and flu season. Its too hard on the family when something like this happens. No one wants this in their house, ESPECIALLY after they just got back from a WDW vacation. I will be sure to clean those surfaces my children will be most likely to touch, and we won't be using the comforters. :flower:
