I like cranberries. Don't like cranberry sauce, yuck. I generally don't like maroon food. I don't know what it is. I've never even tried a beet. It just looks gross.
My kids love homemade cranberry sauce. Not me. I've never liked it. but I make it every year. So about 7 years ago the kids pleaded with me to try it. "It's so good mom, you have to try some. Don't be a baby!" so I tried it.
Then I had the mother of all allergic reactions. Lucky me! I don't ever have to eat cranberries again!
Have never had fresh homemade cranberry sauce we always buy it from the can so this year I'm going to give it a try. So if you have any recipes that you like you can post it here
Cook sugar, water and cranberries until the skins pop open, about 10 minutes. Cool on teh counter, then refrigerate for a few hours. That's all there is to it!

The nasty stuff in a can is to real cranberries what canned asparagus is to fresh asparagus.
I love cranberries in baked goods. One of my favorite bath fragrances (Body Shop) is cranberry based. I like a fresh cranberry salad. I think it's ground up cranberries, sugar, oranges and sometimes pecans.
Love it all! Jelly, Canned berry sauce, from scratch...
We even put it on our turkey burgers year round. This is actually DD's preferred way to eat burgers.
