Inspired by the PE Thread: What Did You Hate About HS

I liked high school, especially band. I hated jr. high because of the bullies.

I loved everything else about highschool. I liked highschool a million times more than college, that's for sure!
Oh I definitely agree with you on that!!!!! I haver to say I didn't like math much but the rest wasn't bad at all!! I read your other post about HS vs college and really I am with you on that... even with my mom's death, HS was so much of a carefree life for me... I can never get that back.

I hated the drama, in me and everyone else. I grew up in the 80's and everybody had so much ANGST- read Breakfast Club! I wish I had known then that things were not such a big deal!

Didn't like Math.

Didn't like one particular Spanish teacher who used to bash the USA until I told him that if Spain was great that perhaps he should go back there!

Didn't like having some kids who were very wealthy, snobby, and clique-y, who wouldn't associate with anyone who they thought was beneath them. I was usually pretty good at ignoring them though.

Other than that, my HS were pretty good!

i like pe

teachers are protective they complained of junk food i pretty much ignore

I didn't like much of high school at all.........and couldn't wait to graduate and get out of there!! I think the only things I did like were Art, and the HOme ec classes.......girls were not allowed (in my day) to take any shop classes at all.......no exceptions. I always thought I would have liked to take wood or metal shop.

I didn't like all the craziness that went on with some of my classes, teachers, and construction in school. I sometimes wished I had a "normal" high school experience. Most of the time I loved everything and loved that it was so "unique."

i just graduated last year..and hated gym ---and the cliques of the "snotty" people...and the stupid fights some people just HAD to have..."omg she looked at my boyfriend..blah blah!

1. My Junior year I was elected in student council. The junior class student council had to pay and decorate for the Prom. I had a crush on Kelly and was devastated when she told me she's going with another guy. Nevertheless, I didn't have the guts to ask anyone else, and going stag was kind of frowned upon. I spent the entire morning and afternoon decorating for a dance I didn't attend. Boy I hated that. My Sophomore sister went to that dance (Sophomores couldn't go unless escorted by a Junior or Senior). I made up for it my Senior year and went to (2) proms.

2. The soccer game at CJ where I accidently scored a goal for the other team. I played defense and tried to redirect a kick toward our goalie. I flubbed it, and it went into the other net.

The "Posse". (Is that how you spell it?) I was allowed to be on the outside of this clique - I guess I should have been honored? But after I made real friends in college, I realized how awful they all were. I barely talk to anyone from high school anymore.

BUT, my sister saw a bunch of the Posse at a local bar a couple months ago. Apparently they were all shocked that I was married and no longer living in our hometown. Ah, the small pleasures of knowing that at least for a moment, I'm "better" than they are. :teeth:

I adored HS and still look upon it with many fond memories. I found my passion, teaching and theatre, now my major in college. Love it here too. I did not like my principal, he was racist. Our school was twice the capacity and 42 years old, 23 trailer units that frequently had mice or bugs.

My school focused on sports to much and I really hated that. When I was president my senior year of the Thespian Society I tried to get it passed that we could letter in it, granted people met the strict requirments. They turned us down saying we didn't do enough. Mind you we were the only extracuricular activity that brought home many state championships 4 years in a row, and became one of only 12 schools picked to represent America in the International Theatre Festival in Scotland. Through my research I found we had more rehearsal hours all year than the football, basketball, baseball and track team combined. They still refused but allowed the band, who only played at football games, to letter.

I got along with most everyone because I ignored the cliques but all of the clubs and teams annoyed me. I was a bit of a rebel and didn't like anything that the grownups approved of. I made good grades and liked the "smart" kids but I avoided the counselors and clubs (except the French Club) like the plague.

one word....CHEERLEADERS....LOL

I thank god everyday that I have boys and do not have to be involved in that.....ick.....ick......ick....lol

Esmerelda

I did cheerleading for half a season my freshman year until I realized the unwritten rule that only rich snotty girls should be cheerleaders. I didn't get that memo, I guess since we weren't rich. Justice prevails though, cause the rich snotty girl that told me about this rule is really fat with five kids and isn't quite so rich anymore. ;)
I also hated MATH, something about letters and numbers in the same problem still gives me a headache.
Another thing is the boys in high school! They love ya when you have a boyfriend, but when you don't they change their mind. They break up with girls and bad mouth them to all their friends and....can you tell I talked to me 17 year old cousin today???

I hated having depression my whole senior year plus the cliques(but i had and still have my group of friends who knew the truth and supported me).Having to go to my kid brother's graduation last night brought back some bad memories along with tons of good
