Inspired by the M/S Thread: How many of you have done Summit Plummet?

I did it, and I agree, the anticipation during the walk up was much scarier than the slide itself. The slide itself is pretty quick and was a blast. No injuries to report.

I've only done it once, but I suspect the walk up won't be so bad now that I know what to expect.

I've done it. And I loved it. Screamed (really more of a laugh) the whole way down. My husband did it, too, but when we intially got to the top of the "ski jump," he tried to chicken out. He kept asking me if I wanted to walk back down the stairs with him. I asked him if he was crazy, as there was no way I was goin' down the stairs, I was goin' down the chute! Because of me, my husband was forced to go down the chute, too. He couldn't be shown up by his brave wife now, could he? ;)

I've done it probably 50 or so times over the years and really love it! The view from up there just can't be beat! I agree with some of the other posters: it can be a little rough on the bottom and on the shoulder blades! still, something everyone should experience at least once; what a rush!!! My dd did it the first time in 1997 at the age of 5yrs 11months!! she's a little daredevil; can't keep her off it now. we finally convinced dw to do it the last couple of years and she enjoyed it somewhat and felt good about overcoming her fear of it. we all have the t-shirt and were it proud!
I remember back in 96' being at the top getting ready to go down when I noticed alot of military planes flying around really low and thought "what a strange place to flying manuvers". later in the food court at CBR; saw the front page of a newspaper detailing the value jet crash. that was really weird and sad.
anyway; for all of you that have'nt tried it yet and are physically able: take the plunge and think major weegie!

I did it this past october. I closed my eyes during the whole thing, (to keep water out, and a bit out of fright), when it was over, I felt a bit bad about not watching the world drop in front of me. I wish I hadn't closed my eyes until the very end, when I was landing.
