A few years my kids were talking with me about tattoos (they were probably 4 and 6 at the time). I asked them what they would want to get if they got a tattoo and we wrote it down on a piece of paper. My younger girl wanted Ariel or Dora the Explorer, my older girl wanted Arthur or Belle. Now I can tease them if I had let them get a tattoo when they were a kid they would have Dora or Arthur on them. They are SO embarrassedand they've realized the choices they might make regarding a tattoo as a kid probably won't seem like a good idea years down the road. I'm hoping it will keep them from getting a tattoo as a teen.
Well, I got my Belle and Sebastian tattooed on me when I was 30, so some things just don't go away. (I say it's in honor of my kid's names, but it also about my love for Disney!

(So glad I never got one!)
I guess my parents didn't. The one thing my father threw out of mine was my Disco Sucks shirt. I was fuming when I found out he'd tossed it in the trash. I'd gotten it at a concert somewhere, can't even remember where. All my friends had them, too. Later on disco grew on me, though, so it was probably just as well. Ah, the good ol days.
