Are you Afraid to die? I am truely frightened, but i dont know why. What are your guys opinions?

i used to be terrified. it used to keep me up at night.

but then i got over it. it happens to everyone, and no matter what you believe, nothing bad will happen.

if you believe in heaven, you know things are only going to get better, and youll get to see those youve lost.

if you dont believe in anything, then theres nothing to fear, because youll never know youre dead.

if you believe in reincarnation, its not a big change.

TERRIFIED. I cannot sleep some nights, it's all I can think about in my mind. Dying comes up at least once a night in my head.

It was bad before I got sick too. My CCD teacher told me that when we die "we float around in space". I'm petrified of being nothing. I'm petrified of never coming back. I'm petrified on leaving my loved ones. I'm petrified of my loved ones leaving me. I'm petrified on time - being dead forever. I'm petrified of growing old and realizing I'm going to be dead soon.

It's gotten a little bit worse since I got sick - I know this thing is going to kill me. If it's not cancer, it's alzheimers.

Not to barge in on this forum but I saw this topic from the main page and had to comment.

I see death all the time and I really don't want to be scared of it but for some reason I cannot get over that hump of the unknown.

There are lots of people around me who are very comfortable in death and dying and I can handle it at the moment it happens, but I think about it later that night and for days to come and it really eats away at me

i don't think there's a reason to fear dying (personally! i can understand why some might fear dying) but i mean, once you die, you die, you don't feel anything after you've died, and if there is an afterlife--you go to the afterlife, if not, your body decomposes in the ground and you won't ever know the difference. that's just my thinking.

the only thing that scares me about dying is the fact that it might put my family through pain.

I am afraid to die. It's my biggest fear.

It used to keep me from sleeping in 7th and part of 8th grade(s). Actually, it went away when I met my new friends (whom I'm friends with now that is)...

I'm not afraid to die, it's more like I'm afraid of what happens after I die.
I mean, I believe in heaven, and I've accept Jesus and whatnot, but what happens when you die?
Do you just lie there and wait around?
It's just confusing.
i can't keep the idea of not living in my head, I always think 'I wonder what I'll think when I die' and then I realize, oh wait, I won't be thinking, because I'M DEAD.

This puts my brain in a whirl.

I'm not scared. I'm almost 100% positive [what I believe personally of course! lol! Don't want to start a religious debate, especially after the last couple of days xD] that there's an afterlife. I'm actually kind of curious as to what it's like to die, more curious then scared. But, yes, I do have a pit feeling in my stomach that maybe it is nothing...and that small feeling scares the crap out of me. But I know it's human to doubt.

Yea, I was thinking about this once and thought it would probably be just like before you were born...you just don't exist. I guess that wouldn't be so bad...but it still scares me.

That's if the afterlife doesn't exist though, and I believe it does but at least that's an alternative.

Yeah, I used to be really scared of dying, but now im more over it. Its still really mysterious, and of course that's why people freak out about it. We dont like the unknown so much... but anyways- I believe in Heaven, and I'll be fine. But if someone was going to tell me when I would die, I would probably freak out... I mean, who wouldn't? Older (really old, I mean) people don't as much, but they're wiser and have lived a long time to think about it I guess.

I'm terrified of my family dying, because I dont know where I would be without them, especially my mom.
My mom dying is my biggest fear, honestly.
