We always do stockings first!

Before. That's something the kids could do before we got up... YEARS ago.

We do stockings first too. It has the added bonus of keeping the keeps occupied while I get ready in the morning. I let them go through their stockings as soon as they get up.

Stockings first, kids play with their treats and toys while breakfast (and coffee!) get organized and then off to the presents!

Usually last. Dd wakes us up after Santa has been here ahd then she starts looking at what Santa leaves and then we open wrapped gifts and usually leave stocking for last.

Stockings hang near where Santa leaves his gifts. So, the kids stop and see Santa's gifts first, next The stocking before the wrapped gifts.

We sneak in and lay DD's stocking on her bed to find when she wakes up. Of course, the way she sleeps we could run in shrieking, throw it on her and slam the door on the way out, and she'd still be sleeping...

I like that idea of "one more gift".. Hmmm.. Maybe I'll hold back one of my DGD's gifts this year..

When I was kid it was stockings, then church, then presents. Now that I don't go to church and my dad goes Christmas Eve we do stockings followed by presents.
